I suspect we will have a one term weak president with no power, and then in 2020 a historic and powerful one, like the next Reagan or FDR. Someone like Paul Ryan or Marco Rubio or winning in a landslide. Do you agree?
Not necessarily "establishment", but yeah, he'd have to be much more down to earth. The good thing is that the president doesn't give speeches everyday.

I didn't defend him. I said that his problem was from the 70's and he is doing good since then.. Well mostly. I had missed some tax evasion and such
I said he seems to be a berrer politician compared to Trump. He is trying to make friends with countries and stop the US from funding Israel.
Also speaking of Trump i think most of the thing he is saying is just to shock people for more votes. He is not after getting rid of all mexicans but the illegal ones. So his wall would probably be a better sollution to handle them and not really building a wall.
Not sure how/if he could handle the muslims bot overall i expect as much from him as i do from Hillary. The US have been fucked for quite some time and there is no light in the end of the tunnel at least for this election.

The stuff he said about Mexicans is already enough in my opinion. You don't need to wear white hoodies and burn crosses to throw around racist slurs. That's the point. It is a new form of racism. I doubt that Trump even believes in it. He just knows that it gets him votes.
But I guess his comments have been distorted by the media again ... yeah. Seriously guys. You like Trump? That's ok. But don't bullshit around it. He is using racism to catch votes. Because it stirs up the people and it gets him publicity, which people see as edgy and new, because he dares to say the truth or something like that - yeah, like no yea, no one ever criticised immigration in the US before Trump! But nothing of it is new or provocative. It's just that most people here sleept during their history class. Otherwise they would realize that a lot of regimes of the past, be it in Spain, Greece, Germany, Russia with dictatorships used this fear-of-the-foreigner to rally the masses. It's either the gays, or the jews, or the capitalist, or what ever. Something-something is always destroying and threating our way of life. But no one, can ever give you one defined example. Like when we come down to the individual.
Temporary or not, it would still be xenophobic and a form of racism. I doubt we would have the same conversation if this was about christian fundamentalism, which is also on the loose in South Africa killing thousands of innocent people. It just happens that the victims are muslims, so in other words, no one in the west gives a shit.
Also, it isn't better just because Carter did it before him - for the case what you say is the truth, I havn't checked it. But I feel there is a bit more to this than that.
You know what is funny? There has been a build up of muslim-angst for years now, almost a decade. But has any nation actually banned Islam? Like the religion as whole. Aren't mosques the base for terrorists? Isn't every falavel you buy today geting you closer to adobting the Shariah law? If it is such an dangerous ideology, and actually such a huge and real threat, why don't we see some real ban and some real politics done here? For fucks sake, London has a muslim as mayor! It certainly isn't a question about laws, or what you can or can't do. laws have been changed and bended in the past before, including civil rights and constitutional rights, particularly if there was a real danger. The reason why nothing is really done, is because the people with half a brain know what this is about. It's about to create fear. Not to actually do something about it, because they know that it is not a real problem or the real issue here. The Japanese attacking Pearl Harbor. That was a real problem. And here the government did something. But this, is not a real danger or a real threat to our way of life. And neither are the immigrants or the hispanics or what ever. That's not to say that every immigrant is a nice person or that every muslim loves peace, I don't even know if there is someone who would ever seriously say that. But, this kind of fear from something that you can't really name, is a very cool way to make laws and politics that you could not get without this unreasonable fear. And for some small minority it is outright hate. They just love to hate on someone. For what ever reason. With the politics we see from Trump, and others including europe? You can wage wars, you can get consessions, you can make unpopular laws, you can avoid domestic policy, you can blame a small and powerless group for all of the complex problems, that would otherwise require some serious work and rethinking. Low vages? Blame the Chinese! Lots of violence? Blame the muslims! Global warming?! PROPAGANDA! Yeah man, fuck science.
Funny how everything in history is really repeating it self. And how the same shit was done in Serbia before the civil war. And each side said the same shit about the other one. Does anyone really think that there can be no propaganda in our world? That it can only happen on the other side?
He would be probably just like Reagan in that sense. Doing nothing substantial, while acting all tough.
Trump isn't the kind of guy that gets shit done. He is a name. A brand. And that's why he works so well currently. He knows how to sell this brand. It doesn't matter what's inside.

You're quoting the Old Testament there, both times. A time when getting the Israelites set up and their lands founded was more important than peace and love. Yet people will always point to the Old Testament and say "HUR HUR LOOK THE BIBLE IS SOOOOO EVIL" while forgetting the Old Testament is full of laws not meant to be followed anymore. The laws in Deuteronomy, Leviticus, Judges, etc were only to be used until the Israelites had managed to establish themselves a kingdom. You'll notice that, much like Imams today, Jewish judges/prophets rewrote laws and such throughout the Bible as time went on. They had to be harsh at first, the Israelites were completely surrounded by enemies and totally dwarfed by the other kingdoms around + foreign religions such as the Phillistines'. And then once Jesus came along, he completely rewrote the rules into the New Testament.
Anyway, not trying to make this a religious discussion. You just shouldn't attack someone else's religion when the Bible was never even mentioned throughout the entire argument.
Back on point, since this is about favorite alive politicians, I'd have to say I like my governor, Phil Bryant. He's less kooky than his predecessor, Haley Barbour. I'd still prefer someone kickass like Kirk Fordice though. That man was a legend.

Because they're a part of history. The books need to be printed and shown so we can understand how the Israelites came to be, how they did it, why they did it, etc, and most importantly to show the transition from Judaism to Christianity. It's meant more as allegoric history rather than something that should be followed as law today. It's still important to see how Jewish culture has evolved from stoning sinners in order to keep the tribe "pure" to loving thy neighbor.
The difference between the Koran and the Bible is that Christ basically invalidated the Old Testament. Laws such as not being able to get tattoos, not cutting your hair, not being able to eat pork, etc were thrown out in favor of just the Ten Commandments and peace/love. When it comes to the Koran however, all the old laws are still meant to be followed completely, as they've never had someone come along and say "The old ways are wrong, this is how you SHOULD be doing it." So laws such as not being able to eat pork, or killing nonbelievers, are still supposed to be followed.

That is actually a good point. You'd think that people who claim to follow the Bible to the letter would know that Jesus revoked much of the Mosaic Law, but way too often they don't actually understand the concept of "revoking". My aunt, for example, is a complete Bible nut (literally. She hears God's voice. Developed some mental problems some time ago) and reads it every day and basically knows it by heart, but still scolded me for having long hair as a man back when I had long hair because it was against the Bible. She didn't actually understand that the Mosaic Law was mostly revoked. Not that she even understood all of that, either, because I'm pretty sure she wore different fibers and ate shellfish from time to time...
Funny thing is that understanding that these laws can be revoked still doesn't mean that people are actually capable of thought. Jehova's Witnesses, for example, know that the Mosaic Laws are mostly revoked and can tell you the exact verse of the Bible telling you so, but try to find a Witness that can actually have a rational thought for himself. Seriously. They sound all smart when you talk to them about the Bible parts that they know, but way too many can't actually think. They literally can't. They can't connect things, and in a most delicious fit of irony they don't see the beam in their own eyes.

I don't consider either Jews or Muslims evil. Just... misguided I suppose would be a proper word to use. Like I said, the laws in the Old Testament are now just a reference for history, they aren't meant to be followed, Jesus literally broke like 10 Old Testament laws Himself, such as when he worked on the Sabbath in order to heal the sick. This was strictly forbidden in the book of Deuteronomy yet Jesus did it anyway. That's just 1 example. Meanwhile Muslims still follow the Koran strictly and the Jews still follow the Old Testament strictly because they don't they don't believe the Messiah has come yet and thus they must follow the old "incorrect" ways until then.
It's just that many people don't make this connection because a lot of nutty preachers/politcians will act like the Old Testament is the way things should be law-wise.
