Fallout 4 postponed the release of its GECK solely so fans would be more likely to buy their microt-

    -ransaction DLC bullshit.

Before paid mods, there were the 3 DLCs: Pay2Win 1: Robot Companion Factory edition, Pay2win 2: Broken Weapon Enchants, and Pay2play 1: Evil Playthrough.

And before those, there were the Wasteland Workshops, pay2play packs of items that should have been in the base game to begin with.

Remember when some Fallout 4 fan used the FANMADE GECK to create a "Build your own robots" mod that was better than the Automatron DLC AND didn't break the main quest like the DLC did until a patch came out to fix it? It's like Bugthesderp WANTS to go from "Charmingly incompetent" to "Disgustingly scammy and scummy".

I'd argue that Bethesda have been disgustingly scummy since Oblivion. They've never been "charmingly incompetent." Their efforts at streamlining their games towards the lowest common denominator has always contained a sense of smug, self-serving cynicism towards their fans. Oblivion contained ridiculously over-priced DLCs like horse armour; basically microtransactions before they ever became a thing.

Fallout 4 and the Creation Club are ten years of evolution of that greed and contempt for the player. Bethesda have been progressively getting more money-grubbing and their games have been getting more dumbed down. It's really sad.

No fucking surprise there and yet it's STILL less evil than EA and Eidos.

    Let's boycott all these companies.

Some guy: But I want to play their shitty games! Sure they're full of contempt for me but I still love triple-Ay games!

Then buy better indie games. Also, I would certainly never tell you to torrent Bugthesderp, EA, and Eidos games in the way Spore was torrented. I would never tell you to do that.

"Boycotting" implies one is actively refraining from buying their products as a protest despite wanting/needing/being interested in it.
Given that most people here aren't interested in Bethesda in the first place, not getting their games is just that: not getting their games. It's not really "boycotting."

Yeah, but if we call it a boycot, it sounds cooler and it might convince others to join in. You know, like what we in the gaming community did to Gawker and other unethical games news outlets. The ones we didn't bankrupt lost massive amounts of money over that "Gamers are dead" stunt, as they should have.

No it won't. exp is the best teacher and negative user experience is what gets people to boycott a company. EA for example are already doing that to themselves.

Beth is currently making some bad decisions like this one and some of the games they presented in E3 this year but not quite the complete the scumfuckery business models you're getting with EA, Konami, and most mobile games. At least not yet.

On one hand, fuck Beth in general

On the other hand, lol @ people who jumped into FO4 right away anyway

Also, boycott won't work. Too many people give zero shits about this kind of behavior and will not bother taking their mouths off AAA's cock long enough to protest about it

Another example of Bethesda's garbage would be the Creation Club

Bethesda burned a lot of bridges with F4. I was hyped when I first saw the trailer for it but a few days later when gameplay started coming out - yuk. It's downhill from here because their consumer base now are just casual gamers who like fast action with only the occasional conversation with no real interest in story or deep mechanics and the rest are just literal children that don't know a quality product even if you were to hit them with it.

I already came to the realization Fallout is gone and there won't ever be a good game for it after New Vegas. I'm just glad Obsidian was able to give the franchise a proper sendoff and make a story capable of keeping Bethesda's canon-breaking hands out of the West Coast.

It sucks that the series has devolved into a shooter with shitty dialouge, characters, and stories. All people care about in video games these days are guns and graphics.

One day in one chat one guy said that Fallout games can get very boring. I asked him which Fallout games he meant. He said he has only played Fallout 4.

Beth is targeting stupid people, because there are more stupid people on this planet than smart ones.

Explains this Godd, sorry, Todd mentality of removing 'superfluous' things from games.

Aye. I guess the stage is set to make a new Fallout, something crowdfunded and designed with the original game's mechanics, or a mix of FNV and F2's. I've been working on something like that, but I'll need a lot more funding, a music guy, and maybe a voice actor or two so I wouldn't be voicing EVERYONE. Then again, voice actors were never really needed, since Fallouts 1 and 2 were based on old games like Wasteland.

Reminds me of when the Creation Club came out for Fallout 4 and one of the first things they put in it was the Horse Power Armor as a "joke". Thats not a joke, Bethesda, its the exact same fucking thing you did in Oblivion and its still horseshit

Difference without a distinction, really. One can stink more and one can stink less, but in the end we are still talking about 2 piles of shit
