Fallout 1, 2 and Tactics free for 48 hours

I actually bought them all off GOG a few weeks back. Still, I'm certainly telling my friends to get them. They have no excuse now.

I heard that this is because GOG is losing the license to sell Fallout at the end of the month. Which might also mean I can't re-download it from them. Does anyone know if there is any truth to that?

Bethesda is getting the distribution rights from Interplay this month. And GOG.COM doesn't have a deal with Bethesda(or Zenimax) so they will probably have to remove them from sale. As for your games you own, they should be safe:

Please note that all three classic Fallout titles are pending right holder change. Sadly, to the best of our knowledge, we'll be forced to remove Fallout, Fallout 2, and Fallout Tactics from our offer. For the same reason I bought them on Steam a few weeks ago. They might disappear for good soon..
 
I just got FO 1 and 2 for free! :D

As I mentioned in my intro, I've yet to play either of them, so I'm looking forward to my winter break. :)
 
Are there any important downloads for fo tactics?

Is there a simplified/best way to edit portraits? All the in game portraits suck and damn I'm too dumb to fallow the directions I've been googeling.

Uhmmmm make an image within the Dimensions the forum allows and then upload it through the browse button? this is the news forum, not the technical help one...
 
I don't know if these are easier than what you've been finding, but we've got fairly short and sweet directions for changing your character portrait in the FAQ thread of the Tactics Modding Forum. If you've got questions the thread can't answer, the folks down there are pretty good at what they do.
 
I don't know, according to Botkilla, over at GOGs user reviews, Fallout 2 is "Overall Waste of My Time"

I tried this game because of all the good reviews it received. I then proceeded to download it. In tried it once and stopped playing after thirty seconds.
I would not recommend this game to anyone who does not like RPGs. Go straight to Fallout 3, as it has elements of an FPS in it.
