What if Ulysses fights the Sole Survivor

I think Ulysses is a very tough guy. So, he survived a Nuclear explosion, his tribe was totally wiped out by Caesar's and, of course, he went to Zion, Big MT and walked the Divide for three times, all before the Courier started to walk his exactly same road. I think Ulysses is nearly as good as the Courier is, 'cause they are really so similar, and close, also, to the Vault Dweller. So, if Ulysses found the Soul Survivor in the wasteland for any reason and they started a fight, who would win? (You can choose the Soul Survivor's version that you prefer or you think it has chances in front of Ulysses).
 
First of all, you might be the only one posting about Fallout as of late, so, keep it up, we need it!
Secondly, it's "sole" survivor. "soul survivor" sounds like some 70s R&B band
Thirdly, Ulysses without a doubt. The "sole survivor" is an emotional douche who has known the real wasteland for less than a day, depending on when exactly the two meet. Ulysses was born in the wasteland, grew up in it, was shaped by it, ended up talking like this because of it, short sentences, without beginnings, without appropriate ends.

Hahahaha! I really know it is the Sole Survivor, but i don't know why I have written "Soul". Fuck my mind (Also, i'm not a native english talker, so my mobile phone may have written "Soul" instead of "Sole")

So the comparison came because I really think Ulysses is as good as the Courier. So, as the original Courier Six would say, "they have walked the same roads", the only difference between them is that the Courier showed to be better than him beating him. So the Sole Survivor is a main Fallout character, and because of that i have doubts.
 
Well, in terms of badassness, the "sole survivor" is still a noob. They forced some "pre-xp" on the male character, making him "ex military", the female character is still just some house-wife suddenly finding herself in post apocallyptia, messing up raiders, and being given a frickin minigun on her first day out of the vault. After being frozen, to her she was ironing clothes a day prior.

It's one of the several reasons I disliked FO4. One of the worst things were the overly expressive facial expressions "yes =D" "no ='(" god how creepy
But yeah... In both FO1, 2 and 3 you are born in that world, even if the world itself is new to you to explore.
I liked courier even more, because courier was always part of that world, and was therefore "inherently badass"
"Chosen one" is a dumb tribal, but knows a hard life. He just needs to learn how to use guns and wear clothes and stuff, which he does, pretty fast at that!
I gotta say, "courier" is my favorite among them, probably for being born and raised entirely in the wastyest of wasteland
 
My favourite main character (and almost whole character) of Fallout series is, without any doubt, the first, the only and the great Vault Dweller. So, i have to say he has done very difficult things (almost impossible). Destroying a whole mutant army? Surviving the Glow? Are you kidding me, man? The fucking Vault Dweller has done tons of awesome quests being, as his name says, only a normal vault dweller (maybe the Albert Cole's greatness?). The Vault Dweller is incredibly badass, i would say he is the greatest hero of the wasteland. Then, the Courier. Wow, man, if you are able to survive a shot in the head without any protection, you are, for sure, a hard son of a bitch. Then, the Chosen One. Being only a tribal, he destroyed a fucking army like the Enclave and he killed crazy aberration Frank Horrigan. Then, the Lone Wanderer (is so similar to the Vault Dweller) and then, the Sole Survivor.

By saying that, i can't really understand how the Vault Dweller, without any known data about the wasteland, only Vault 15's location, could survive and, then, do all that amazing things. Yes, it's true, he was raised in a Vault, but, man, he's a true hero, unkillable (if that word really exists).

Referring to the thread, i think Ulysses is a lower (nearly as good) version of the Courier. He's fucking amazing. I wouldn't say crazy, but not sane. He survived tons of quests too.
 
If we go by the gameplay sole survivor can kill even superman. That guy scales indifinately and sooner or later he will be able to take on anyine. Basically a power fantasy come true.

However, outside of that Ulysses wins. 10 SPECIAL, drones, Highest Hp for a human and we are talking about a guy who survived the divide.

The way I see it, sole shit is one the weakest Fallout protagonist with power armour made of cardboard.
 
If we have them at around the same level of power and same equipment, then I think Ulysses wins. Specially because The Sole Survivor's power armor would run out of juice and Ulysses one (remember, same equipment) will last for years to come :lmao:.
 
As much as I like Marvin Gaye I don't think the soul survivor would stand a chance against Ulysses.

Really though, a "versus" discussion about this is kinda silly. Ulysses is a well-written serious character and Soul Survivor is a cartoony vessel that the player uses to just mow shit down. If we go by gameplay then Soul Survivor would win. And if we go by writing then Soul Survivor would win. Ulysses is a spy. He knows how to get in and out with ease. How to move undetected. He's not a non-stop murder machine. The Soul Survivor is. In gameplay and story.

It'd be better to discuss character vs character rather than character vs protagonist. Cause protagonists in RPG's are usually overpowered like crazy. And Soul Survivor is pretty damn overpowered (or would be if the fucking meatshields would stop scaling their damn health with your level).

Well, a versus thread between the two can't be resolved for real. Too many differing mechanics, too many factors to consider etc.

But if I have to decide, Ulysses. He's essentially a foil and direct mirror nemesis of Courier 6 so he is comparable to the Courier, in terms of capabilities and potential. The Sole Survivor may get a lot of fancy stuff but the SS is only a person travelling in one Wasteland. Ulysses has way more experience than the Sole Survivor so he would be able to counter whatever the Sole Survivor throws at him.

Plus Ulysses is a properly fleshed out character while the Sole Survivor is just an avatar for self-insert power fantasies. This may not change the outcome but it does affect who I am rooting for in this fight.
 
Well, if the fight take place in beth universe, the pc cannot lose, even if he is lvl1 wearing a level jacket and shooting with a pipe rifle. ( if those things still exist in fo4)
 
The Sole Survivor will win because he is obviously the best Character in the franchise I mean, he can level up everything and be a God.

All Ulysses does is talk, Sole Survivor shoots first, talks later.

Yeah, while you're stuck blabbering on with Ulysses, the SS just leaves the conversation, hauls out a mini-nuke launcher and lets it rip.
 
Sole Survivor.

He would tell Ulysses his backstory and the events in Fallout 4 and Ulysses dies by listening to the retardation coming out of the Sole Survivor along with his "terrific" voice acting.

Sole survivor for obvious reasons. Fallout 4 is a game that's basically about killing as many things in front of you as possible, so you'd expect Ulysses to just be another stepping stone when he comes face to face with the Sole Survivor. The guy has honed his craft in just straight up murdering people first, asking questions later.

and right there, Ulysses would jump, off the ledge, he would, end his life, he doesn't, deserve, this.

*SS commits suicicide*

Ulysses is a fucking amazing character, I loved every speech, and SS has not a single skill, Ulysses can ergo pass every skill check. ;P
