Characters returning

Sublime

Still Mildly Glowing
So let's Imagine Obsidian had another run at Fallout with a game set on the West Coast. Which characters from New Vegas would like to survive (and get mentioned) or to reappear ?

I'd hope they create a wonderful new cast, but Fallout's always had recurring characters so...

I'd want more Legion. The Legion got shafted somewhat by New Vegas so it'd be fun to meet a few more of their characters and see them given greater depth. I actually think a character like Lanius has the makings of a great tragic figure, so I'd love to see him return. His foil in the Legion was Vulpes Inculta so I'd be all for that honey-voiced furry returning also. This is entirely if the sequel were set in Arizona though. If it were set in Wyoming, I'd love to see the Khans again. I love that they have their own story throughout the Fallout series and it's a shame that with going to the East Coast the series leaves them behind. In many ways their story is integral to the themes of the entire series. I'd love to see them being given more depth and characters.

With specific characters, it'd be nice to know where Goris has gone. I have this fanfiction in my head of him trying to breed more talking deathclaws to eventually dominate the overall deathclaw population (and thus save his race from their inevitable hunt into extinction) so as this hypothetical new game will probably never happen, I'm gonna say that's what I'd want to see him do. But he's from Fallout 2, not New Vegas...

It would be hilarious if Fantastic had somehow wrangled his way into a new setting. No matter what happens he always seems to come out on top, so it'd be funny if he were somehow working as an ambassador for the NCR or something. Maybe he's remembered as the hero for getting the power to HELIOS One working, and gets sent as a head scientist to a facility in Mexico or Wyoming.

I would be upset to see Arcade Gannon on the run, but it could make for an interesting storyline. If Arcade fights with the Enclave at the Battle of Hoover Dam, he gets pursued as a war criminal by the NCR. Considering that a lot of the Enclave are octogenarians, at some point they're going to die and leave Arcade on his own. I'd be interested to see what a radical with advanced power armour could do!

Tabitha and Rhonda. I don't have much to say about them. I just think they would be a fun duo to encounter.

Well, for me it'll all depend on how much time has passed.
If it's a more recent sequel (like 20 years or so), wouldn't mind seeing an old bitter Boone, sitting in peace and talking about that time he killed a load of Legion soldiers.
It would be interesting to have a game set in Legion territory maybe with Boone being a sort of legendary killer. You could have a side quest where you either help him or kill him.

Mr House should get a mention somewhere, I would believe that a lot of NCR Soldiers would have spoken about him and the battle of Hoover Dam when they were at the strip.

If it's a distant sequel (like 80 years or so), I believe Marcus would have spread his influence across the West Coast to at least get a mention. I could imagine some Mutants seeing Jacob's Town as a sort of place they can pass by.

Arcade, Boone, Lily, and Veronica, because they were all interesting characters whose stories can go somewhere interesting. No Bark Noonan because he's hilarious, but since he's so old in NV, maybe he gets ghoulified. Clones of Malcolm Holmes because of MikeBurnFire's 'multiplayer' series on Youtube.

Yes Man because the Independent ending has the most interesting possibilities for future development (The Legion ending might as well be 'nuke the Mojave', everything would be gone. NCR means more NCR...I think we've had about enough. House means everything becomes about House. Factions are melded into his own, erased or pushed out). Though seeing House return on top of that would be sweet because he's a great character. Finding out what becomes of him, being stuck in the pod and all, would make for absolutely amazing conversations.

I had hoped that Marcus would do Broken Hills on a bigger scale. There ought to be some progress on racial issues.

I agree that companions make great candidates for another appearence. However, if you had to choose One among these, Who would you choose? @NMLevesque

Veronica for sure...even if they can't get Felicia Day to come back for the role. That certainly is a big plus, but either way I'm more emotionally invested in her story than any of the others. She's the most endearing of the bunch by a longshot.

Yes Man seem like the best ending for the future of New Vegas. It's interesting that Yes Man finds "code" in Mr. House's system that allows him to be more assertive. There is, in fact, a separate, completely unique AI already existing in House's system, Mr. New Vegas. I think it would be likely that Mr. NV just took over Yes Man's AI (he can't say no) and used Yes Man's face and voice temporarily to lead the Courier along. Mr. New Vegas should return as the true master of the strip.

Raul, without a doubt. Even if they probably cann't get Danny Trejo to reprise his role again, the studio could have him be the Ghost Vaquero; replacement for the Mysterious Stranger.

The Vaquero idea is very interesting, but the mysterious stranger is kind of an icon of the game. Maybe it could be a second option like lady luck in New Vegas or a special encounter
