That whole studio has been overrated since the admittedly good first season of Castlevania came out (with 4 episodes) even if the animation got stilted at points and is written by the edgy redditor Warren Ellis.

The state of anime in general is pretty dire. Moe shit, shonen shit, romcom harem shit, iseaki scourge, shitty light novel and manga adaptions, etc. I don't think I've watched more than an episode or two of a series in the last 2-3 anime seasons.

They are also bringing on the John Wick guy, Chad Stahelski, to do the fight choreography. Since John Wick, that guy and his friends have done their darnest to ensure every action movie fight feels the same. So much so that I can already picture some of the fight scenes.

Couldn't they get Capcom to make a new beat 'em up for them, a new Punisher-style beat 'em up? Nope. They go the most creatively dull way imaginable.
