Crux Diaries RPG: a turn-based isometric indie CRPG

lol I just checked and the run-time of Unity version I'm using is compatible with Windows 7. However, what type of CPU and videocard have you got?

Crux Diaries RPG: a turn-based isometric indie CRPG

Honestly, I'm trying to distil Fallout down to a smaller scope (I'm a solo dev after all). It's still a work in progress, but I’ll probably drop sneaking, stealing, traps, science and repair skills. I'm more interested in the narrative and characters than deep tactical combat or immersive systems.

Crux Diaries RPG: a turn-based isometric indie CRPG

:ok: Personally, I'm not a fan of fantasy. Non-fantasy setting was one of the reasons I've fallen in love with the OG Fallouts. I'm just hoping the niche of non-fantasy RPGs is not too tiny :twitch:

New Blood Interactive hints at something very Fallout-esque

Makes sense. It’s a relief not being stuck with SVGA and its dithered 256-color limits. Games like Pillars of Eternity and Disco Elysium have nailed that sweet spot between old-school charm and modern polish (Shadowrun too, though to a lesser extent). And even if it's all pure sprites without...

Crux Diaries RPG: a turn-based isometric indie CRPG

Hey guys, Thought I'd post here about the game I've been developing over the years. The initial inspiration was OG Fallout many years ago, but this one’s not post-apocalyptic (fictional Eastern Bloc-ish setting around 1970-s) and it's less combat-heavy (unless the player wants it to be)...

New Blood Interactive hints at something very Fallout-esque

That's cool, thx. Judging by the screenshots, I assume it may be sprite based?

Weren't you working on Van Buren? Is it now some kind of Fallout-inspired game using your tech over Unity?

Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

Oh, yes, it definitely was. In fact, I remember Master so well because I had to save scum multiple times due to getting crippled or losing my eye whenever entering the corridor leading to him. I would save the game whenever I was lucky enough to get a little closer to the baddy. Then I'd get...

Introduce yourself! AKA the "Say hello" thread

I've played Fallout 1 around 1998 on my 486DX 50MHz PC. It was a pirated disk I borrowed from a classmate, who introduced me to the game. I would never be able to understand how to play it on my own without an intro (there was no manual and I never played proper CRPGs before). By the time I...

New Blood Interactive hints at something very Fallout-esque

I keep wondering whether the whole Doom vs. Fallout isometric style was just a marketing gimmick to generate the views at the back of the nostalgic vibes. Not sure whether they were trying to use it as a cross-promo for other released games reaching the niche of gamers into the retro-style games.

The Original Fallout Games Deserve The Diablo 2: Resurrected Treatment

I agree. They've only been posting random screenshots and very short clips. I can’t help but wonder though how many lawsuits Bethesda’s legal team would throw their way if this Fallout-like project ever gets released.

Lol where does it say that it will be released in a decade?
