What are some of your unpopular opinions?

Well there’s also the fact that Aradesh is some kind of Hindu and mentions Dharma. And whatever happened to that obelisk in the middle of Shady Sands?

Edit: سوف تتدفق الأنهار إلى اللون الأحمر بدماء الكافرة ;)

Serious edit: I actually don’t think it’s too strange that the NCR lost most of its cultural identity from the Shady Sands days, because the NCR isn’t just Shady Sands. Shady Sands facilitated its formation but it started as an alliance between Shady Sands, Junktown, the Hub, and Adytum. All of those other places are pretty much regular Americans (even if the Hub tries to have a bit of a Middle Eastern bazaar vibe) so it’s logical that that culture would dominate.
actually :monocle:
i think shady sands would probably have a strong identity to its origins, while the hub should is the most diverse in culture
think about it, in normal cases the hub would turn into the capital because most people go there, it is the trading center after all, but it didn't, it still will have more population than shady sands because of job opportunities, so why going to the capital when the hub exist?

i don't like the kings, the faction is stupid, like how elivs school still exist or elvis is still famous after 100 years of his death? you would think in 100 years another talent overshadowed him
it is a stupid joke about Vegas! and its association with Elvis!
i know there is a reason but it is a pop culture joke that no one needed
it would have been better if instead of elvis they made them maybe dean domino impersonators? maybe another musician

Mozart is still famous 234 years later, and there are literally still movies being made about Elvis today. Artists have come and gone, but he's still iconic and recognizable off his silhouette alone, same with people like Frank Sinatra. People will be listening to their music 300 years from now so the fact that he was still recognized in 2077 makes perfect sense, especially when you take the location of Vegas into account.

If you look at them from a surface level and jump to conclusions, sure. But if you actually play the game you can see they're not treated like a joke at all. This is like saying the Legion is a joke because they wear sports equipment. The Kings literally don't even mention Elvis by name, they don't know who he is, just that he was a revered figure before the war (which is perfectly fine as Elvis' association with Vegas lives on to this day and will for many years to come) known as "The King" and that they look up to the his title and the idea of every man being "a king", a reactionary ideology born from House acting as a tyrant king and kicking the tribe off their land so he can revitalize the Strip.

I wouldn't say Elvis is a pop culture joke as he's a cultural figure of Vegas. They literally resurrected him with hologram technology so his performances live on in the city, that scene from Blade Runner 2049 isn't all fiction.

comparing mozart with elvis is like comparing one of the popes with jesus, he is considered the greatest composers in Western classical music history, his music is more tied with history than elvis

i completely fine with their backstory, but this is the thing it is just pop culture because it is vegas, i though in my first playthrough that the king is mysterious musician before the war until i learned about elvis, i was pretty disappointed how what i though was a good worldbuilding is semi pop culture joke that passed through my head
and like i said why here is no musician overshadowed him in thee 100 years before the war, no matter how iconic any musicians are they become less relevant by time
