The "what are you watching" thread

pulp fiction is great, an amazing movie, the katana scene was really unsettling, worked good as shock value, and i really liked the theme about karma and underestimating strangers ability to commit violence.

I forgot about The Governor's kick-ass theme song when he returns in season 4. I might give the seasons I haven't watched a try. I like Jeffery Dean Morgan and enjoyed Negan's character before I stopped.

Just finished watching the King of the Hill revival. Honestly, it was a lot better than I expected. The animation isn’t great but it isn’t super noticeably different from the later seasons most of the time. As far as humor goes I think it’s about on par with the later seasons (meaning occasional funny jokes and lots of unfunny jokes). The “woke” aspects of it can be jarring at times. Arlen has more black people than ever before, which isn’t necessarily unbelievable but you know it’s done for “representation” reasons which rubs me the wrong way. Of the recasted voice actors, Joseph’s is easily the best one, but it’s still obvious that it’s not the same guy. Dale’s is very noticeable, which sucks because I thought Toby Huss might be able to do a good job. As for the male Asians in the show, it’s like the voice actors aren’t even trying. Ted Wassanasong doesn’t sound like himself at all, Chane Wassanasong’s voice is higher pitched now than when he was a kid, and Ronnie Cheng fucking sucks as Kahn. Everyone else sounds the same as ever though, which makes the new voices really stand out. But I guess it’s nice that poor, struggling Asian actors like Ronnie Cheng are finally being given opportunities in lieu of white voice actors with actual talent. There were a couple things Hank said/did that seemed out of character (unthinkingly accepting that Samoas are an offensive name for a cookie/describing staying up late talking about your feelings on the phone as something that “good friends” do/LIKING SOCCER!!!) but overall it was okay.
