That's nitpickery though, again, since by strict definitions, very few people really qualify as racists. I've talked to raging racists who insisted they were not racists, because they didn't _litterally_ _believe_ black people were dumb _because_ of their skin-color. Persecution, from an individual stand, has to do with self preservation and self angrandizement. "If I belong - then I am more than one! If I attack, I am no longer being attacked - I am strong, because they become weak!" This is how people attract to these groups, and the reason why traditionally, extreme-hate groups are populated by "social outcasts", untill they gain more traction.

The guy I talked about (NOT a friend, I select away racists... ) is NOT black, he is a white-supremacist, who hates blacks, for being "inherently inferior", but he acknowledges that blackness is not the cause for this. Hate is not rational. North Norwegians hate both Lapps, Finns and Russians. Where's the rationale for that? We were never attacked by either of them, and subjucated Lapps for centuries. Why hate them on top of that?? No rational reason. It's belonging. They don't want to be some "stinking Finn-lover" among their friends, so it's an easy way to acceptance...

I never said he was black. I meant this racist hates blacks for being black, which is a physical characteristic, the very definition of racism. You're misunderstanding me. Racists hate blacks not because they're inferior from their skin (any racist knows that), they hate them because they're different, by the virtue of having black skin. It's quite different.

Finally.. yeah, and my point is that this is often difficult to really pinpoint. Who hates chinese for being slightly beige? "Chinese is not a race, it's a nationality" "Asian isn't a race, it's belonging to a continent" Racism is difficult to pinpoint, and a lot of bigotry is still "veiled" racism, imho. Poorly veiled, at that.
