Isn't The Witch supposed to be a film that points out how people can be paranoid over silly stuff...but then it actually HAS Witches in it instead of normal folks? That's what I heard about it, at least.

Yeah, but it lets you know from the start it's not going to be ambiguous. Also a bunch of social commentary about puritan lifestyles and witch-hunts, if you choose to look at it that way. Just a really good horror that doesn't need jump scares and builds up dread throughout.
