Jagged Alliance 2 is so hard

Hide one or two mercs inside the bar in the Southern Drassen sector. Fire a couple shots and hide. The enemy will be coming in waves and you just aim for the head. This is of course if you aren't playing on higher difficulty - elite soldiers can easily interrupt.

    Wasteland 2 Beta Out!

Having played through some of the beta, I can safely say it's a lot of fun. The story is growing on you, there are chances to flesh out your characters and make a couple choices here and there. Many human encounters are 'pay a toll to pass', so you're not forced to fight your way through every...

Gotta get home and play this as soon as possible!

Choose Gifted and Finesse, tag Small Guns and Speech, start Agility at 8 and with a high Charisma. If you're up for an easy game :)

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I found Deus Ex 2's story to be at a bad start. It was a lame attempt to get the player interested in the factions, and the whole 'conspiracy' seemed forced solely due to the Deus Ex in the title. I stopped playing after leaving the Seattle area.

Wasteland 2 Beta coming within 2.5 weeks

Only for people who've donated enough ($55+, I believe).

Wasteland 2 Beta coming within 2.5 weeks

Look a little too much like Fallout 3 to me. But at least the beta will be out by the New Year holidays.

General Gaming Megathread: What are you playing?

I'm probably late with this, but I've tried out FTL: Faster Than Light. It's amazing! The no-save option makes up for some really difficult, but memorable walkthroughs.

    Whats in it for you?

Gives a nice sense of achievement. Especially when you can get to successfully work as a team in a multiplayer game.

    Battlefield 4

But this was, exact, careful planning. Stalin was hoping to exterminate as many Soviet people as possible in this war (some sources say he aimed at 7.85 million troop deaths annually) as his plans extended into a Stalinist Europe. This is why I argue soldiers who fought for freedom (and yes...

    Battlefield 4

I didn't say the Soviet soldiers were not repressed. But stating that many of the Red Army troops were commanded solely by fear is a little stretch. It's well known they hated Stalin, and they fought not for him and his ideas but for the freedom from the Nazi regime.

    Battlefield 4

There were many people in Red Army who were also there to fight for the freedom. When the eastern front opened, you can look at the humongous numbers of voluntary POW on the Soviet Side (hundreds of thousands) within the first months. But afterwards? It stopped. Not because they were threatened...

An enemy you hated most in whole fallout series

That, and the aliens. They shrugged off energy weapons like it was no big deal.

Is it wrong to compare Fallout 1+2 with 3 in terms of story?

Let's be honest, comparing is the only way to evaluate whether something is good or bad. I wouldn't argue with Fallout 3 fans if I were you though. It's pointless.

East and West propaganda vs reality

I'd attribute that more to the ridiculously low oil prices at the time.

Wasteland 2 Gameplay Demo:Prison Level video released

True indeed. Are the Rangers blind? If anything, they should be able to see the whole location, with NPCs/items/etc appearing as the player moves on.

Which 3 of these games should I get?

Deus Ex should be your first choice, if anything. It's an all around great title. I'd also pick Sleeping Dogs. It all falls down to genre preference though.
