First time out of the vault
Rockin Console and PC
I myself am doing both. PC and Xbox. I have Fallout 3 for both the 360 and my PC. The graphics are definately sharper on the PC, but my Xbox is hooked up to my 60-inch Sony. Honestly I like both. The Xbox is definately easier to deal with (except for the brief 2 month outage where I went through 4 Xboxes dying with the RRoD) and I still enjoy the Xbox an awful lot. The PC now has SLI (which seems to help a lot). Here are my PC specs:
AMD 5600+ (2.8 Ghz)
4 Gigs of GSkill DDR2
Razer Barracuda Audio Card (that thing rocks my socks off)
Razer Copperhead Gaming Mouse
5.1 surround sound speakers
2-XFX 8800GT Alpha Dog Edition
19-inch Widescreen LCD
About $1800+ for the whole shebang. (I bought alienware)
This is for the OP--do you have a high def TV? If not you will want to go with the PC upgrades. The Xbox looks like dogmeat on a standard Def TV. Otherwise if you do, I would lean towards the Xbox. Sure you can't do word processing on it, but you have a computer to do that on so you wouldn't lose anything in the process. Also, how many of your friends have Xboxes? That makes a big difference. Although it is easier to make friends on an Xbox. Anyway, my 2.5 cents
