Are you playing on normal mode? The ranger looked pretty dead to me when I killed him.

 

maybe there's a trigger that ranger or trooper don't die before get enough distance with player. but can be die by player

*Proceeds to murder the assassin with a machete*

Tell Caesar than I was thankfull for the supplies.

 

"When you get to hell, tell Caesar I sent you. He'll be grateful for the company" - Right before melting them with sweet, sweet plasma goodness.

 

"Okay, but let me first call your mom to tell her you won't be eating at home tonight!"

 

"About fucking time! If the Legion can't provide me with a steady supply of test subjects, I'll find someone, who can. Anyway, stand over there and close your eyes. It'll all be over soon. Or it should at least. But if not - don't worry! I'll realise something's wrong when you start screaming horribly and make sure to get it right before you guys send the next group."

 

They don't. My high Perception, along with ED-E's sensors, means I see them coming from afar and vaporize them with my fully modded laser rifle before then can even get within shouting range.

I missed this....the best part is that Caesar's real name is Edward, so you could also just deliver the original line in all its glory
