A post-apocalyptic Far Cry?

That cover is rather provocative. I'd personally avoid this kind of thing, no matter what the context is.

Funny coincidence, didn't somebody say in another thread a few days ago about how all post-nuclear games depict the wasteland as a desert and it'd be unrealistic since flora and fauna could still grow years after the event? I can't remember which thread it was in but I find it extremely coincidental it was posted just before this trailer came out depicting Hope County all overgrown.

Is this game canonical or is it a spin-off? Far Cry iterations always referenced prior events through Willis Huntley and Hurk, so this is gonna get pretty weird with inevitable future titles if it's canonical.

I wonder what roll Joseph will have or if the Deputy will even make an appearance. Like maybe if you have a FC5 save file, it'll detect it and use the character you created when they pop up in the story. A couple games do that with custom characters, but since FC5's character customization was pretty basic I doubt it'd be difficult to pull off.

It's a game about female empowerment. :wiggle:
Get fucked, Ahmed. The gameplay is literally a post-nuclear ethnic women cleansing. :flameon:

Definetely not in my "gonna buy" list. Will probably in discount after some months if it turns out good.

I find this thread funny because apparently no one here played Far Cry 5, which ended in a nuclear war.

I.e. This is a direct sequel to that game, including NPCs from that game.

Also, the two black women are the villains ala Pagan Min.

They're the children who grew up in the post-nuclear wasteland and murder/slaughter/steal whoever they encounter. Yes, they're RAIDERS!

So this is just a reskin of Farcry 5. It's a smart business move by Ubisoft, I have to give them that. They'll have a full priced game out for a very low production cost.

I didn't like Farcry 5 much so I'll probably keep my money. I'll just keep waiting for Blood Dragon 2 or a remake of Farcry 1.

I actually liked Far Cry 5. Not enough to buy a reskin at full price, or even at half the price, but it's a well made, simple game. It does what it says it does, it has a nice atmosphere and the microtransactions aren't invasive at all, unlike in most titles from major studios these days. I'll clearly forget it in the near future, but I've had some good times with my friends with it.
Pretty much what has been said here. I'll keep a curious eye on this new one, but without intention of buying it anytime soon. I'm more interested in the upcoming Metro Exodus, really.

Man, 2019 is shaping up nicely for science fiction and post-apocalyptic video games: The Outer Worlds, Metro Exodus, and if this Far Cry game is at the very least dumb fun, I'm ok with that.

What I enjoy more is how these games are stealing Bethesda's thunder. That makes me happy.

I imagine it would basically be Fallout 4 but it wouldn't look like vomit and probably have less shitty dialogue (not SUPER GREAT writing, just not Monkey on a typewriter level of bad), maybe at least one funny quip at least.

There's some info in this month's Gameinformer if ya care.

It's called Far Cry: New Dawn. It's set 17 years after the Nuclear War of 2018, so...2035. You can mount 'expeditions' to get 'resources' from across the country, though it's still set in Montana. You can go to Louisiana or Arkansas and so. The stupid, grating cult from Far Cry 5 is still around, apparently this chaotic clean slate is what Joseph Seed wanted all along. Yes, plants and animals will abound as everything is going into overdrive without humanity much in the way since around Year 6 post-war brought back the sun. Humanity has basically entered a shitty rut and nothing really new is being made anymore.

There's two main factions; yours, being based around a town called Prosperity that want to rebuild civilization, and the general raider-faction known as the Highwaymen who just eat and fuck and kill their full ontop of the old ruins. Basic as hell, really. Vehicles, animal friends, and guns-for-hires return, all that stuff.

Still doesn't interest me, to be honest, especially if the Seed Cult is still around. Didn't rub me right as a fun enemy in 5 and won't now. I just want Far Cry 2 remade with more RPG elements, really.

i like PA settings as much as anyone else but a PA open world ubisoft game is still and open world ubisoft game.
