i COMPLETELY agree hellspawn, those new "suits" of power armor look really, REALLY gay, the old power armor looks awesome, atleast they could have came up with another cool looking armor and make it take place after fallout 2, dont u agree?

The fraction are a troop of soldiers that is sent to fid out what happened with with mutant army.
then they "crash" (do not ask me how)
If you read a prewiew you would also find out that they are trying to find the way back to the main Base of the brotherhood if they was a fraction that was running away they would not try to find their way home would they?
they did not run away they was sent on orders (i think) pluss i think the new armor is really cool AND this is not an army in a movie.
this is supposed to happen in a post-apolyptick world and then i do not think the designers care so much about how the armor locks like just as long as it work and if you were a tribal would you attack an walcking tank like that armor? i do no not think so.

Ps. you are not the only one with a bad spelling and grammar, and i think that i have proved you wrong now have i not?

RE: Xotor is right...

el_Prez, I guess that's why Marcus is a "dumb ass mutant" and has the "mental capacity of 4 yr olds"

Have you seen their complete pics in magazines? They look tight-ass. And obviously you've never read Starship Troopers, that's where they ripped out the powered armor idea from---made the whole thing seem pretty damn cool.

And why WOULDN'T the army use it? The reason the brand-ass new helmets aren't retro-style is because if a tribal tosses a rock at the retro helmet, it's almost sure to whack something or cut a tube. With the new style, there's a much lower chance of any of that happening, with all of the vital components covered by the tough exterior.

Fallout 3 Powered Armor will most likely be designed by the Shi, who were 2 years away from their polymer research giving them designs for new powered armor that they could use, taking the advantages of hardened powered armor given to them by the CO. Well... unless the shi=candy-eater guy... Badger, that was it, hacked into it.

Now that´s interesting...the PA can easily be damaged by rock-tossing-tribals...probably that´s because it was not designed for such dangerous encounters, right? Just to battle the chinese army, which just had guns and grenades, nothing that can really be compared to rocks. Or maybe rocks were invented after the war? I have to admit, that sounds logical, but why did this never happen to me in the game? At least I cannot remember having my PA damaged by rock-tossing-tribals...maybe I managed to escape, whenever I had to face this threat...
And all the cool retro-technology is inside? Ah, cool! So when I should ever design an armor like this, I will just make a white wireframe bounding-box and tell everybody "Ah wait, this is just an ultra-new-special-cloaking-device, all the interesting artwork is just INSIDE!!! You cannot see it, that´s because if it would be visible, enemies could see and destroy it! If you don´t like it, make a better one!"
Seriously: I said an army would not use it - what I meant was: nobody would ever produce something that looks like this, unless it´s a car or a basketball-shoe or something like this. All the shapes are far too organic and far too smooth. Of course you now will explain me, that´s just because of....I DON´T CARE! I want a PA that looks like FALLOUT, not like a demon or a bizarre alien or an armor that would fit any SF-game. And I do NOT want explanations, why it does not look like Fallout. I don´t insist on "realistic" design (look at the original PA, nobody would be able to see something through those tiny visor-openings and the eyes are not in the upper third, but in the middle of the head and so on...OF COURSE it´s not realistic, that´s because nobody has to produce it, nobody has to wear it and no tribal will ever toss a rock at it), I would like to see something that fits into the Fallout-world, of which retro-technology , 50´s-Styling and Cold-War-paranoia is an important part of. Or at least, I thought so...

Maybe I should mention, that I did not intend to insult or offend anybody (if I did, I apologize of course), and that English is not my mother language (I don´t even know, if there´s a word like "motherlanguage", hehe...), so there are probably some mistakes in what I wrote. Try to understand it.

And if you like the new Power-Armor: Good for you!

I was arguing about the realistic ramifications of the new powered armor, not what looks cool to you. And powered armor is not necessarily a super-close fit. The head can move around a little bit, it actually triggers certain radio commands and controls that way.

RE: BOS power armor

Then it would not say enclave soldier when you lookked at the corpses

I em not sure. Why should it bee weaker than the enclave power armor?

I think he's saying that since it came earlier than the Enclave Power Armor, it should be weaker.

However, I disagree with that. The BoS could just have better engineers working for them.

Someone mentioned it look like a demon... has anyone considered it may look like that because of fear tactics... if you are some primitive tribal and this 'Demon' just wondered over you'd think twice before picking any rock up... its not all that different from armour form the middleages... that sometimes featured very large questionable pieces of anatomy to inspire fear in thier oponents...

Yes, that's the explanation I thought of at first, too. But when you think about it; do people with weapons and armors of that calibre really have to *scare* their opponents? I mean, isn't it enought that they can melt them into ponds of green bubbling stuff, or simply just cut them in half?

Well if you think someones a god or demon you figure verry powerful and invincible now If you know there humans and can die then theres a little hope.

The new power armor is probably designed for its intimidation factor. In a heated battle, you see a guy with a minigun and a bug-like helmet and armor plating, your gonna wish your mommy was infront of you to take the rounds. Not all armor is for hanging on a mantel and looking all nice and such, its for going into combat and whuping some ass.
