Afterfall: Insanity financial woes, trailer, $1 pre-order

Is this a real game or are they just scamming people with a fake trailer and keeping the money for themselves?

They actually give the option to pay more than one dollar so you can pre-order more than once and give the spares to friends.

I've did three dollars. That's about two pounds. I don't mind paying two quid to charity, and in the very unlikely event that this campaign suceeds, I'll have two spare product keys to give to mates.

If lots of other people to do the same thing and buy two or three preorders times rather than one, then that makes the crazy goal somewhat achievable, only would need two or three million to do it rather than ten.

It's still highly unlikely, but if you actually like the look of the game and would have considered buying it at $10, then I think it is weel worth doing.

Game looks OK, not great but OK, but quite impressive for an indie title... and When it comes to small indie games, I'm much more forgiving. Hell, I pre-ordered Deadly Premonition when it finally got a UK release.

So they're expecting to sell 200,000 units, if they don't make their goal through a donation drive? While it is a neat way to increase awareness for their product, it's off-putting that they picked a number that's clearly unreachable; why not choose a more realistic number, one that doesn't make their judgement appear flawed?

There's nothing guaranteeing these guys will actually donate all the money to charity. I have no reason to trust their promise.

Haha, that Afterfall guy's explanation to just $1 worth of price is hilarious.

'We would like to do something truly epic. And you have to keep in mind that Insanity is the first game in the Afterfall universe. So we would really like to see at least 10 million people around the world playing it, enjoying it and looking forward for the next installment in the Afterfall storyline.'

I'm not against donating $1, I think that the game looks fairly fun. Only 16466 pre-orders so far...

On a side note, we could ask Bill Gates to happily donate the rest. Just want to see if they really worked on a title. You never know what kind of prank people may pull off nowdays...

I'm tempted to spend money on Insanity just to see what they've come up with. I like some of the art, although the writing and voice acting are truly hamwesome.

Also, +1 for Marshall's moustache.

17665 KITTIES !!! :D

I'll preorder a kitten for charity! Send me the paypal information and I'll donate $1, but if I have to pay full price for the kitten, please dispose of it properly. Thank you.

If i'll watch of marketing that's idea is great why?

First in most ppl opinion $1 is nothing and for that price can buy one or more copies and remeber of the 10 % for charity it's around 1 milions $ nice number.
Second if they lose all money go for charity so they don't earn too much.

Anyway for $1 i can try I'm very curious what will happen on the day of release.

Huh, even 25k would've been pushing it at this rate. ..10mil?

I'm guessing it'll go to the Unemployed Afterfall Devs Foundation charity..

maybe more people buy that game in pre-order if them know what charity is.

Few more people, maybe.
With or without it, 20,000 is most likely the upper limit. If staying optimistic.

If I want to donate to Amnesty, I'll donate to Amnesty (I don't, though I donate monthly to other charities). I have absolutely no reason to trust Intoxicate to donate all the cash they get when they fail to reach 10 mil, none at all.

Donating to someone who then donates to someone else is not very productive anyway. After all, in the end, the money is less than if you would donate directly to someone.

I think i can help them, $1 isn't big money and game looks interesting.
Preordered three copies for me and friends.

I think they said they'll only donate if they do get to 10 million, which they know they won't. So they attempt to build hype and make money anways.

They donate if they don't get the 10 million. So they will donate, as there is and never was a way to get 10 million preorder. We don't know to whom they donate, though.
