Alien(s) Games

I am a fan of the first AVP game for nostalgic reasons and the Alien Trilogy fps for PS1. Hell even the Aliens 3 16 bit game for Snes/Genesis was good it had a metroid platformer vibe.

Give Aliens Infestation a try if you can ever find it, visually perhaps a bit scaled down to the SNES/Genesis games but it has a lot of similar gameplay.

Okay I'll check that out, thanks for the heads up! I'm a sucker for metriodvania type platformers. Although before I had heard of that term I used to call those kind of games Blackthorne-like. That really shows my age.

AVP classic 2000 is fun to an extent I found. Never could enjoy it as much as some people.

Level design was aggressively obtuse, didn't look amazing even for the time and felt very arcadey/archaic in a lot of design aspects. Its the sorta fun DOOM 1-2 is tbh, mindless shooting in obtuse but arguably well crafted levels that lacks structure in the overall plot/game.

I know I'm and old doofus, I also enjoy the Mysteries of the Sith DLC for Dark Forces 2 a lot. Playing that on MSN gaming network with some peeps who would PvP and talk about tactics and how to fight. Later some highschool friends and I would go this pretty dope KoreanAmerican owned cybercafe and play various games mostly Jedi Knight 2 and Jedi Academy mutiplayer. At one point we beat the two owners which was I thought impressive but later learned they mostly played CS.

I forgot to mention that but is indeed a Metroidvania style game in which you need to collect weapons and gear to unlock other places. It has an interesting take on acquiring extra lives.
And I remember Blackthorne too, I have a copy of its budget re release on my shelve.

Yep, also remember Mysteries of the Sith though I usually played it in Single Player mode. And of course I played Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy.
Sadly Dark Forces Jedi Knight and Mysteries of the Sith have not aged that gracefully. I wish there were remakes of these titles as I do wish to experience their story lines again, unfortunate there has never been or will never be an official remake and fan efforts to do so shut down years ago when the developers realized how much work such an effort would take.
