Anarchy In The Wasteland

It Wandered In From the Wastes
I am going for my second run in new vegas now, and my main objective is not to be good or bad, I just want the wasteland to be as chaotic as it was when the bombs first dropped. Now I know this is not really possible but if you guys have any tips for factions to join/kill/weaken and what quests to do so it could be as close to how it was in the past.

Kill everyone and turn off Hoover Dam instead of turning on the Robots.

Is it actually possible to go bonkers on every single faction in the game, killing the leaders etc. and then get the proper endings for it?

Lol I can't really imagine how would the epilogue looked like..

Only the Yes-Man ending. Since he's the only non-killable end-game quest giver. No Gods, No Masters.

wish they would have done an ending even with a dead yes-men. Kinda like everything going to hell, or more precisely all simply become usual tribals again.

Yeah, that'd be nice, although it'd probably have to be a 'bad ending' - "you killed all the leaders and thus prevented any permanent peace in Mojave; everyone will curse your name in the years to come if they live to remember it" or sth like that. Probably fun, but ultimately unsatisfying, kinda like the 'bad endings' in PS:T.

well something that could work as well would be the population of freeside and westside taking over the strip families without anyone in charge or "pushing" them around (like the NCR or the legion as threat), throwing all those wana-be-casino-gangster out which might result in a "free" Vegas beeing ruled by the people living there very similar to a small republic if you want so. I could imagine a lot of scenarios that could have worked without Dr. house, NCR, Yes-mam and the Kai-zer-söze-legion.

It's a shame you can't take over Helios and turn everything in the wasteland to ash.

but ... but you can. There is a way to get the Archimedes II weapon in Helios to work. And then you have a super orbital laser in your hands. Granted ... its not THAT powerfull. But its more effective then the fatman. And you can strike from everywhere as long the target is in visible range (though weapon works only between 9 am and 10 pm or something like that).

Well, you can take it over but you don't get to use it as a part of the end game is what I meant. Like there is no slide that says, "and then the courier destroyed everything with Helios".

ah, right that you mean. True about that. As someone else mentioned already the story behind Helios and Archimedes is ... pretty short to say that. Considering the potential and power behind it one might expect that it played a much biger role in the game. Similar to the role of the orbitial station armed with nuclear wareheads from before the war mentioned somewhere in the van buren documents I think. If I remember correctly there was even the idea to let the end fight hapen on that station.
