Any creative roleplayers out there?

You should use the Playable Tribals mod, maybe use the White Legs or Sorrows skins.

I use the Tribal race mod which adds 4 tribal races, a hideout at the Tribal Village and equipment for the tribal.

Will post a new picture when I recreate her. Also working on a sniper who collects teddy bears for some reason.

I've done some role playing.
My first role played character was Jason Bourne. Was an assassin who was shot in the head and had amnesia. He is solidly with Mr House, but learns (from Ulysses) of his past and regrets it. He spends a lot of time doing right to ensure everyone survives and thrives under Mr House before the second battle at Hoover Dam. He was mostly melee and had a hand gun (That Gun). Very high intelligence, science, medicine.

I did one recently based on Hawkeye from Last of the Mohicans. No, I did not get La Longue Carabine, but he ended up siding with the NCR, though he did so grudgingly. Very high survival, guns, perception.

I also did an 'android' play through where he got all implants and implant type perks. In the future, I'm going to role a Terminator character. No Charisma, high strength, high science.

These character can work quite well. And the DLCs all add something to them.

My last character avoided Freeside and the Strip until after he was level 30. This cause some quests to sit uncompleted for a long period of time.

I also want to do a character that is based on trade networks and following the caravans around. Free up I-15 of death claws, I-95 of raiders, the trail to New Caanon and so on. No idea who they will side with.

Not sure if this has been posted yet but here:
http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/45739/?

It changes the start of the game so that you can start with almost any background imaginable. Want to be a down on his luck gambler? Want to be a BoS paladin or a Caesar's Legion or NCR soldier? Want to be a Follower of the Apocalypse? Want to be a fiend? You can do all of these and pretty much anything else you can think of, and you start the game in an appropriate location for the character you created with all the appropriate gear (the quality of which varies based on how wealthy you set your character to be).

It's a good mod and really mixes up the feel of the entire game.

What about doing a default/canon Courier.

-Default character
-S.P.E.C.I.A.L is arbitrary, but I'd have it as 5 in everything but Luck, which would be 10. Ideally you'd have everything at 5.
-Skills are again arbitrary, but I'd choose Guns, Survival and maybe Barter or Speech.
-Vault 21 Jumpsuit (Install mod/console command that adds armored vault-suit.)
-Wild-Card
-Neutral/Good Karma (Your choice)
-Generally cowboy themed weaponry (I'd throw in some "iconic" and "gimmick" weapons in there too, like ARCHIMEDES and perhaps the Holorifle.)
-Try to recruit all companions throughout the game, swapping them out throughout the game. ED-E should be your primary companion
-Try to complete as many quests as possible.
-Nuke both the NCR and the Legion at the end of Lonesome Road.

I dunno, I'm not so great at "theme" characters. I'm better at specific personalities.

Anyone here try a Nerd character (high intelligence, tech skills tagged, non-violent most of the time)? Need advice on what to do for her, as I am debating between 5/7 endurance, 7/9 intelligence (mod to reduce the skill point gain per level) and 7/9 luck. basically she will have the RP of being a socially awkward nerd girl with a teddy in her inventory (still a child at heart).

Also, should she be addicted to something, and if so what?

So I just did a Druggy NCR supporter, I based his appearance on Charlie Sheen. Gotta fnd me some Deatchalw blood.

I'd say these days he looks more like he's got Centaur blood, which should be a lot easier to get your hands on.

I'm currently playing (or rather, on hiatus from) an implant-packed drifter-for-hire, a wary, plainspoken cowboy wannabe who takes himself a little too seriously, just wants to go his own way, and is really, really good at holding grudges. I know it doesn't sound all that original, but I never, never, never (and insert a few more nevers) do characters like this, and it's been novel having to constrain myself to a playstyle that's basically the opposite of what I'd normally choose. Middle of the road Int, below average Cha with not a single point invested in Speech, bargain basement Luck, too unconcerned with prying into other people's affairs to ever hear of half the sidequests and completely unforgiving of any attempt to play him false or put him on a leash.

This, of course, means pistol-and-grenading a whole lot of people I'd personally sooner not-- no quarter for the Khans that buried me (or any of them, as I can't peaceably show my face at Red Rock after killing Jessup and Co), no Brotherhood left alive (except for possibly Veronica, as he can't stand her company and so will likely never look her up again after the bunker's toast), an extremely speedy completion time for Honest Hearts, no warning to the Chairmen before emptying a clip into Benny's face, no hope for Keely to survive trying to lock me in Vault 22, an instant hatred of the Legion and an increasingly dim view of the NCR, among other things.

In all probability he's going to nuke both major players and forsake House for Yes Man, and depending on how things go I've got a sneaking suspicion that he may just end up blowing up the entire Securitron army and decommissioning the dam-- the Mojave did just fine without it up and running before, and things back then were a far sight less... complicated.

Edit: And of course, he's still the savior of the mojave. Gotta remember to mod out karma rewards for kills next time.

I installed MoMod which aside from adding new creatures also adds in new loot for them in the form of consumables. So now I can drink Deathclaw blood and get a boost.

Now if only I could mod in a chem called Charley Sheen that does nothing but when I put it in people's inventories they just die.

That one's pretty good for a "default" Courier. I've done a similar run, but with 10 in Intelligence rather than Luck, and with my main weapon being a modded hunting rifle and the main armor the Desert Ranger outfit from Honest Hearts (swapped out for the Lonesome Road riot gear at the end).

Seriously, I need help with a nerd RP. mostly addictions if any, and choices for some quests.

You could try an Unarmed/Melee Mad Scientist build. A unique combination of Nerdiness, Brutality and Criminal Tendencies.

Starting SPECIAL: High Endurance and Intelligence. Low Charisma, and roleplay this aspect accordingly.

Tag!:
Unarmed, Science, Medicine

Secondary Skills
: Sneak, Survival, Melee. Or consider Explosives and Repair go down the Mad Bomber route.

Equipment
: Power Fist/Pushy/Saturnite Fist/Ballistic Fist should be your primary weapon. A Zap Glove or the Paladin Toaster for pesky robots and the BoS (whom you despise). If you want to use explosives, stick with homemade, Mad Bomber grenades or C-4 exclusively.

Perks:
Nerd Rage, All Chem related perks, plus the usual ones for an unarmed build. Terrifying Presence to make threats.

Chems
: You're a discerning narcotics user, and enjoy multiple drug cocktails. Specifically, you like Slasher + Psycho + MedEx, or the Mentats + Buffout combination. You can also brew up Party Time Mentats and use them to supplement your extremely low Charisma.

Main Quest
: Mr. House or Yes Man. Maybe you'll be satisfied with a role as a brutal enforcer for Mr. House, respecting both his scientific knowledge and his political acumen and knowing that he'll ensure a comfortable life and steady supply of drugs for you. Or maybe you'll play along with House up to the very end, then stab him in the back and take over Vegas for yourself. Alternatively, you could join forces with Elijah (Dead Money DLC required).

Background: You grew up rough on the streets of a gritty frontier town in the NCR, where you learned how to brawl. But in spite of these humble beginnings, your intelligence and uncanny good luck brought you to the attention of one of the local outposts of the Followers of the Apocalypse. Impressed by your natural talent, they took you in, gave you a good education. Under the Followers care, you embarked on a rigorous course of medical and scientific training. However, you never really left behind the ethics of the street, and never really bought into the Followers' philosophy, and so you were eventually kicked out of the organization for "self-medicating" and brewing and selling chems on the side.

As a rogue scientist, you then turned to seedier scientific pursuits, serving as a chemist, computer tech and emergency surgeon for a string of gangs and crime families across the NCR. During this time, you refined your Tag! skills, as well as your taste for illegal chems. But as the years went by and the NCR's power became more consolidated, it has become harder to find dishonest work, with all of your employers eventually winding up imprisoned or dead at the hands of the Rangers. To survive, you had to keep moving, your brains and your brawn keeping you just one step ahead of the law. Eventually, finding yourself down on your luck, you moved to the furthest edge of the frontier and took a temporary job as a courier, hoping that in the lawless environment of the Mojave, you'd find a use for your skills...

Playstyle You can solve quests using your intelligence, your scientific skills, or your fists, but generally not by sweet-talking people. You are an extremely antisocial, arrogant brainiac, personality wise. If you have to talk to people who are less intelligent than you are, you very much prefer being under the influence of chems. You can raise Speech to 70 in order to get Terrifying Presence, and use this to threaten people if you like, but otherwise don't spend too many points on Speech or Barter.

Factions: You strongly identify with and respect the power-hungry geniuses of the Mojave, like Mr. House, Elijah, the Think Tank, and even Caesar. That doesn't necessarily mean you'll side with them, or hesitate to kill them if it comes to that, but you respect them.

You think the Followers are naive fools and dislike the Brotherhood of Steel for their medieval social structure and fetishistic attitude towards technology.

You really, really, really hate the NCR because of your criminal background. You will not work with the NCR and will take every opportunity to avoid them, and will strike out at them if you have the chance. There's no way you're letting them take the Mojave.

As a former Follower, you have a grudging admiration for Caesar and his accomplishments, and as a pugilist, you can respect the fighting prowess of his Praetorian Guard. But as a scientist, a professional drug supplier and serious drug user you would never want to live under his technologically primitive puritanical regime. You don't harbor the same resentment toward them that you have for the NCR, but you are, ultimately, an enemy of the Legion.

Like the other gangs you've worked with in the past, you don't really respect the Powder Gangers, Khans, or Fiends, but you find them to be useful, and you may seek out employment with them or run quests for them if it suits your purposes.

Companions: ED-E is a natural choice and his long range laser can complement your close quarters combat style. Beyond that, it's up to you.

I feel like a canon courier would have an endurance of 9 or 10, considering they survived a bullet to the head at point blank range and all.

@KilgoreTrout, I changed to a kind of Han Solo-ish character, only using traditional guns instead of an energy weapon.

The bullet tore straight through the Courier, but he was lucky enough that it missed all the critical parts of his brain and also made him immune to the Think Tank's experiments. I'd say that's far more Luck based than Endurance. Besides, the Luck characteristic also plays into the whole "Main Character" thing with all the stuff that happens to him, as well as the whole Vegas/Gambling thing which is all Luck based.

I agree with this. I don't buy into the whole concept of "dump stats" in games like NV, but typically I keep Endurance pretty low relative to other SPECIAL stats (unless I'm playing an Unarmed Build or a Low Intelligence Build). In terms of combat, I'd rather be a critical hit based glass cannon and forced to play smart than an unstoppable tank that just lumbers through every fight. Your character will be overpowered enough as it is without pumping END to 9 or 10.

The only downside is missing out on some implants, but I never understood why people are so obsessed with these, to the point that they engineer entire runs of the game around getting to Vegas and obtaining all implants before hitting Level 2. Four implants is more than enough for me to bump the attributes I want, and when you factor in all of the implants you get from OWB it's just overkill to try and pick up all of them.

In celebration of Fallout 4 getting announced I am gonna make a new Character based on Fry from Futurama.
I am guessing I should play it low intelligence 3 Int probably, 10 in luck, 7 in Charisma. Wild Wasteland of course. Energy Weapons, Barter and explosives? I don't know what else, maybe instal that mod that changes ED-E's barks to Bender quotes? Give Cass an Eyepatch so she is a Cyclops?

How is your Fry character going to handle Lonesome Road w/wild wasteland trait ? And to add to your possible Futurama mods would be to turn Arcade into Dr Zoidberg. That would be pretty killer.

I imagine The Todd to be...

Average Strength
Low Perception
Average Endurance
Low Charisma
Low Intelligence
High Agility
High Luck

"ICE CREAM!"

I had an interesting Courier play-through. My character was Brother Francis Blacktooth (kudos if you know where that name is from). He was an exile from the Abby for an accident with pre-war tech that caused the death of another brother. As penance, and to help his soul he became a mendicant and after some time he found peace and became a courier with the the Mojave express. He basically wore a bright brotherhood robe on account that it resembles a Franciscan monk robe. He has two level of animal friend so animals come to his aid in combat etc. He is a tinkerer by nature, and has a penchant for fixing and repairing pre-war tech. A reluctant energy weapons user (GRA Recharger pistol variant mostly), he prefers to talk and find a peaceful solutions to most issues that come up during the course of the run. Ultimately an Independent Vegas proponent but has worked with the NCR on several quests.
