Any way to steal money?

Makenshi

Ahoy, ye salty dogs!
My thief has 125% steal and sneak (I feel it influences here, not sure, tho), but I'm caught EVERY time I attemped to steal money. All other items are perfectly "stealable", only the RP's and BH scripts make my steal... auto-fail?

Why is that? :|

Shoot and loot.

What... ?

I'm pretty sure his problem isn't trying to steal from enemy units, but trying to steal from friendly units.
Are you well versed in erradicating bunker inhabitants, for then to happily complete the game?

As for issue
Makenshi, I suspect FoT seems to count individual items you try to steal. With a high steal skill you can steal 5 doctor bags in one go, but a pile of money counts maybe 500 or 3000 or something "individual objects", making it near-impossible.
I have stolen both brotherhood money and those wasteland moneys, but yes, it is very difficult, and almost impossible.

I would instead recommend you gamble it away from them. With a skill of some 40% I find that you don't even need that much patience to pull it off, and most people who keep money on them, also gamble. I suspect I'm not the only one who have a tendency to regard any takeable object there for the taking, and have spent considerable efforts trying to take everything I can :D

I know hes trying to steal from friendly units.

Yes, i know perfectly well killing bunker inhabitants youll have some issues later on. Still, its an option. There are other friendly units in the game aswell...trader types. But, yeah. FOT doesnt really allow you to play the bad guy.

It's a pretty slim option, if you ask me. Once you kill a bunker inhabitant, you are in combat with everyone, including the trader. The only good money does by that point, is trying to apply paper cuts on him :I
Even if you manage to kill every last inhabitant, you get an automatic game-over when leaving the bunker.
