Anyone else playing the default character?

Yeah there is really no choice. Basically everyone is going to be playing the same character. Fucking smart to do that in a RPG Bethesda! :ugly:

You do know that it's possible to complain about a choice in the game design without explicitly bashing Bethesda, right? We all know who is making the damn game, lol.

It's not like there's any opportunity for roleplaying anymore.

I'm still going to spend like an hour fiddling with her appearance. I never pick the default options in a game where I can change what my character looks like.

Once again I expect for there to be no good hair choices.

I heard there are tons of good hair options this time.
Makes sense, too, because apparently it's now a full-time dress-up doll simulator.

I'm not sure if you're being sarcrastic or not, but an improved character customization system =/= a dress-up simulator.

Well I don't know... some reviewers think that the pinnacle of character customization is making them look good.

Depends on how you want to look at it. Between the base building, the improved character editor, and the way you can layer on every piece of armor, a case really can be made that it totally has elements of a doll simulator. The only real question is that a problem? I will totally spend a silly amount of time creating a character to exactly as I want it to. So, no, I will at least enjoy the eye-candy portion of the game, even if it is stripped of all reasonable impact, or choice have consequences.

I'll be messing with the appearance of both, personally. I kind of like that aspect of Bethesda games, truth be told, tweaking the appearance of my character. It's like playing dress-up !

Not sure how I feel about the way they're going about it though, it kind of felt like they "fixed" something that was never broken to begin with. The sliders for the various features worked fine, why make the customization a weird version of Super Mario 64's intro screen?

Gotta say, I love your analogy :P

I disagree, the sliders were pretty bad. This seems alright.

I actually prefer sliders. I'm terrible with making faces anyway, though.

Pick a preset, change the hair, eyebrows(if needed), I'm done. Thankfully this game has decent faces and presets.
