Using Last Resort with modern resolution?
Try launching in 800x600 and launch a mission if it works.
You can then restart it and set it to your preferred resolution. The problem shouldn't persist.

I set this before,
I tried "skip over the starting intro and the game did launch and I heard 1 second of background music before it quit without an error message.

When installing LR did you do a backup of swat.cfg?
Weird that it crashes after skipping the intro, so maybe the file is corrupted.
Try restoring the backup and launching with current settings.

Tinkered with it here and there but this is just too much work for trying to play an old game that will probably be so dated that I'll quit after an hour anyway. Thanks for the help but yeah this GoG copy is just shit and they should pull it from the store if it requires this level of work to get going.
