Anyone noticed Legion supporters usually spell Caesar wrong?

WTF, I missed this.
For argument sake, lets say this is true:

Better to have went higher and brighter than to have merely subsisted on misery.
A 1000 year monarchy would get absolutely dump trucked by a chad 250 year democratic republic heh

Ah yea, better to live fast and die young and all that.

I’ll stick with my actually efficient governance, thanks.

Fallout 2 NCR is genuinely respectable, and it’s part of what makes NV such a tragedy; to see how far they’ve fallen from Tandi.

Did you know her presidency lasted 52 years? And her father, Aradesh, was president before that? Does that sound like a democracy to you? Or a hereditary dictatorship?

Not having worker protections and using child labor is also efficient. So are forced labor camps. Like I said, The Legion is the path of least resistance. They are not mountain climbers. Efficiency alone is not enough to base a society on. Also, why is everyone acting like the legion will last a long time? There is more evidence to the contrary. This point just head cannon y'all.

Imagine thinking you need to build a society on child slaves when you have robots that have been walking around for god knows how long. Fucking lol
Legion has no stem boys. Hard pass from me champ.

*sighs* it’s not head canon at all; look at both the Legion itself and historical Rome. The only “””evidence”””” of the Legion collapsing all comes from people like Marcus. Let me ask you: what the fuck does Marcus know about the Legion?

Chances are the Legion will break in some way or another as time goes on. But the ideals of total war and self sufficiency will outlast the Legion in the form of those who lived under its banner. To say otherwise is... head canon ;)

I hate the Legion but people need to stop taking what Marcus said as gospel. Caesar himself grooms you to be the next emporeor throughout the game and once California falls, the empire will be born.

It’s not even after Cali falls; it’s an empire NOW. Look at a map of the Fallout US. The Legion controls more land than the NCR does. You’re seriously gonna tell me that they can hold all that together just being glorified Raiders with no proper governance?

Nomadic in that the HQ changes. Talking to other caravaners and legionaries reveals that their “Homefront” makes up most of the Midwest.

Why? Why would the Legion crumble in the unlikely situation of being kicked from the Dam again? The NCR would be too battered to pursue, so Kimball and his war hawks win re-election, try to attack, and likely get beaten back by the Legion rearguard. Two losses don’t equal a shattered empire.

To use a historical example: Waterloo resulted in the dissolution of Napoleon’s France, but that’s 1) because other campaigns like Russia and the Peninsular sapped him and 2) because Napoleon threw EVERYTHING he had at the Coalition.

Assuming that Caesar has even the most basic knowledge of government (which he clearly does), he’s going to have garrisons in the land away from the frontlines to keep order or defend from an NCR thrust. What people fail to realize about the Dam battle and, really, military strategy at large, is that a Hail Mary throw doesn’t = no contingencies, unless you become complacent or forced into a corner like Napoleon did. With Caesar being on his toes from the first battle, I highly doubt he won’t have a backup plan or ten, without thinking about the other possibilities. The man GOT WHERE HE IS by teaching useless tribals how to fight with discipline, live off the land, etc. There’s literally no evidence that that same well-educated man who did all that would go into battle without considering alternatives.

The Legion is not Rome though. As I've said before they are more akin to the Mongols, Zulus and Ghauls.
Also, Marcus is not the only one.
