I was referring to Beth's imposed time constraints on new vegas development... I agree though. Time constraints on parts of the MQ, timed events, really specific prerequisites to events are all things that made me fall in love with the classics.
Time constraints when they make sense are great. They're even better when they change depending on your actions.

Not in game time constraints you guys! I'm talking time constraints on the development of the game. GAWL!
'Time constraints on parts of the MQ, timed events, really specific prerequisites to events are all things that made me fall in love with the classics.'

Sure.

You talked about time restraints in games.
And I was saying they were/can be a great thing. Especially with rpgs where a true sense of urgency is rare. However there was a misundertanding when I was bitching about time constraints on New Vegas' development cycle...

Strange but true: I once set FO3 to 640x480 res, and my graphics card could not seem to handle it so low... and apparently upscaled it to its minimum. The resulting image [gameplay] was odd, but very cool, and reminded me almost of a watercolor graphic novel art style; but fully interactive. Almost like an INCREDIBLY detailed mid-90's FPS done in the Fallout theme. I had fun playing the game as a ~mid-90's FPS, with almost the same good feeling as playing Blood or Shadow Warrior... Though of course, they are both far better shooters.

*Sadly, Fraps did not have access to what was on-screen, and only recorded the raw game output. :(
