Bethesda wants Skyrim PC Mods on consoles!

Like I said, having an in-game mod manager (which I referred to as a package manager before, a 'mod store' type thing before, and etc) would solve that pretty handily.

The mods themselves are entirely third party. I don't know what 'other stuff' you're referring to needing.

Actually, rather than having it in game, making it a standalone download would probably work best; if some mod conflicts and causes crashes early at start up, you could use that remove any trouble makers.

It would definitely be easier if one of the console developers had built there's with this functionality in mind, but it's certainly not impossible.

He is referring to the OBSE Script extender.

Without it you can have tons of texture and mesh replacers, some new houses and horsearmors. But you need script extender if you want anything elaborate like hunger, thirst, fatigue mods, new spell effects, scriptet storys and such stuff.

There is also pluggy HUD, you need that if you want to extend the HUD.

Basically skyrim could include that with a really modular architecture, from scripts to hud to everything, so that you can add new scriptcommands when you feel like it. But strangely i doubt that beth would be up to that.

The way i see it, consolemods will be about cosmetics. If you want a whole new world, new mechanics or anything that has any real impact you are still better off with the pc version.

So consolists will have the nudyreplacers too but i doubt they will have bouncing breasts

Is it possible to make some sort of paying accounts for downloading mods, like saying some shit "to be more secured we crated accounts etc. etc." and then "each download is paid by etc."
That would be like selling DLC, only they did not create it, just stole the download rights. I know it sounds awful and kind of a impossible situation but would they do it just for the sake of gamers to have more fun with free stuff in the mods which could get much better that a pure vanilla version? I think not, they will try to take money from it in some way. I know I would if I was such an unscrupulous bastard.

I saw this around when they first announced it. I'm buying it for Xbox (go ahead and scold me) So if this does work out, I'll be pretty excited.
