Bruh!

In that first quote he was saying that the G.E.C.K. wouldn't work in D.C. because the soil is too irradiated there.

in the second quite he was referring to the western genre not western settings. The classics had a very western feel imo especially in towns like junktown and Redding.

In neither of those quotes was he referring to the west coast and how the games should only be set there.
Yeah, you're right about the first one. My bad. I thought he was saying that the only livable land was in the West, so Fallout had to be in the West.

About the second point though, the western genre is all about the setting. What makes something a western? Cowboys 'n shit...... and being in the West.

GECK? As in 'Garden of Eden Creation Kit?' Comes with a basic replicator unit, holodisc reader with selections from the library of congress, and a little pen flashlight?

Not necessarily. the western genre encompasses a lot of tropes, character types, and a generally being set in a dangerous frontier. Its entirely feasible to have a western set on the east coast. Especially a post apocalyptic western.

Someone I know just assured me that you can have a Western that isn't in the West. They provided Quigley Down Under as an example.

This reminds me of how I want a Fallout set in Australia. You would have to throw in cool Mad Max references, of course.

1. K.

2. Its mentioned that "entire contentinents fell beneath the oceans" I'd wager Australia was one of em cuz it's probably one of the ones that are least relevant to fallout so...

If they did, then why didn't San Fran? If water levels rose high enough to engulf Australia, the U.S. coastline would also be swallowed up.

Can you please stop plugging your book? Ill get to it; just give me time damn. I'm still reading dark tower tho', so it'll be awhile.

Allow me to rephrase.

"Django Unchained partially takes place in the West but is primarily a Western which is set in the Southern United States."

:)
