2142 i do agree with you though. Having to unlock grenades was shit and getting a full kit took forever during which you were barely capable of getting a kill, whereas in BF2 its fairly easy to fully unlock two of your favorite kits and even stock most of the guns perform.
The Battlefield games have one giant piece of shit design that completely eliminate any motivation to buy them. To unlock weapons you must gain ranks and to unlock every weapon takes an unreasonable amount of gameplay that only a few gamers will ever play. I'd rather have obnoxious achievement unlocks than that crap.
