My insight is you need to read both these books, they're pretty damn great, tho' I'm not as big a fan of Catcher in the Rye as some people.

Alice's Adventures in Wonderland is a wonderfully written slightly philosophical work of unfathomable imagination. Catcher in the Rye is a bit too modern angst for me, heh
