Broken steel and freedom of choice

From what I can see, everywhere, you will fight the enclave, no choice there. It will continue from the main story, will it render the previous ending useless and create a new, or will it pick up after? I mean, some people cleansed the whole wasteland and some died.
Does that mean, some will be running around in a totally empty wasteland, except for the few enclave survivors, and some will be resurrected in the last minute, fit for fight?

Seriously, has bethesda thought through this, at all? Does anybody have ANY facts around these things or are they just keeping it to themselves, in fear or retribution?

Yah we don't know much about this add-on. Not sure which ending it will consider the right one. ***Spoiler*** If I'm not mistaken, after you sacrifice yourself and it cuts to the ending monologue, it shows you as a green pile of goo on the floor in the "He sacrificed himself" clipshow. I wouldn't think there would be any coming back from that. But who knows maybe they will clone you in V108 =p and then they could clone all their food their, never needing farms ever again =p

I am wondering if you play as a different character. Maybe a member of the BoS during the falling out between west and east or something like that. It would get rid of all your gear which they love to do =). If we do re-live a past event I would think it would make the game even more linear which I would find a little unwelcome. Hopefully we will find out more soon since The Pitt is out.

They might clone you, have you come out of a tank or something. Not a good choice but it would not surprise me.

This is the expansion I'm less interested in since I only finished the game with one character and I'm not big on high level / epic gameplay. Hopefully it will add some new creatures though, that is the one thing mod makers are having a hard time with.

Well from the statisfaction I got from the main quest, the might as well start with [Intelligent] "you got better...."

This DLC isnt probably going to improve he writing at all.
i assume that it will actually make the plot even more stupid and even worse than it was before.

How the hell can bethesda get away with the idiotic ending and then making a buyable DLC to change the idiotic ending ?
Bethesda fans really dont know what GOOD customer service is.

well ... if the writting has not improved so far with Anchorage or the Pitt. Why should Broken Still change that ?

to make the story "good" and the writting "meaningfull", they would have to rework the whole game. Not just throw out some meaningless DLC that gives you 1 more nice armor and a few weapons ...

It's not just the writting, I mean did you folks notice how the voice acting is actualy worse over all in the dlc?

Im curious tough, if they cross off Enclave. Who will they replace as next powerful antagonist? My point is if enclave is gone who will be supplying the hi tech armors & weapons we have come to take granted. I do think the BOS-Outcast-Enclave could be milked for so much more story.

Probably in Fallout 4 you will just get another Super Computer to shot down which helped the enclave. Just this time, since everyone knows already anyway that the dialogues will suck heavily, you just get 2 buttons. One to shot down the computer, another one to resume your game. Saves time and people can concentrate on what they really love about Fallout. VIOLANCE and INOVASHUUUN!

Like I discussed with General Furioso, I think it is more than likely that the Enclave will be back in the next Fallout by Bethesda, being once more the main antagonist, and the next time, effectively turning them into a cartoon villain.

"But wait, I'll be back! And the next time, Earth and all its piffling inhabitants shall be mine, mine, all mine! Muahahaha!" Random Enclave officer/president.

Quite frankly, I don't see these guys being creative in coming up with really new ideas such as well developed antagonists.

Oh, and you can be sure that the Super Mutants will be back as well.

I was thik on the line that they would add more original, like earth invading aliens and giant robots.

I am hoping the Enclave dies as a major antagonist before Fallout 4. Holy crap, I CAN'T STAND THE ENCLAVE ANYMORE! Honestly, how there are "remants" of the Enclave if I destroyed their bases TWO times? JUST DIE, DAMNIT!

I myself was thinking about emerging post war governments like a rival to the NCR.
And there is also of course Robot City which is mentioned in Chris Taylor's description of the Big Empty.

Or perhaps something can be done with the Institute.

Remember that not all threats to the wasteland need to be large armies like the Super Mutants or the Enclave.
Professor Presper from Van Buren for example only have a small organization of NCR soldiers, technicians and scientists, yet he was out to start a second nuclear holocaust.

Just try to think outside the box and fresh new ideas can come up.

Its unfortunate not canon but the Reavers could also be a source of technology or a threat.
Technology worshiping zealots who are out to gather more and perhaps inadvertently trigger a great threat.
Or perhaps someone using them for a secret design..

I still would like to see Shigor Birdman's Angels of Apocalypse or something like it; crazy heavily armed Luddites who are out to convert everyone at gunpoint and destroy all advanced technology.

Yes if we would be talking about a "good" Fallout game. But in a Bethesda game to make something epic is the rule. Epic journey, Epic plot, Epic fighting.

As long the same people like with Oblivion and now Fallout 3 are in charge over Fallout 4 and future Bethesda projects, you can expect "Epic" gameplay and games.

I could see them going with the Chinese, possibly remnants from their invasion during the war or possibly they've started to rebuild and decided to invade (for all the sense that makes). They could also do a repeat of Fallout and have a mutant (doesn't have to be super mutants) army threat again or go with Tactics and have a robot army.

Ugh, I honestly hope not to see a Chinese remnant invasion army or yet another mutant army.

As for robots, I am one of the few probably who actually liked Fallout Tactics' storyline, but I acknowledge that it probably doesn't fit well with Fallout canon, Vault Zero being the Iron Mountain complex, raiders having gasoline supplies and so on.

I have been discussing with others what would make a good threat to the wasteland.
Not necessarily an organization/faction which destruction is the goal of a Fallout game but more like the guys and girls who are either after the same goal as the player or want to stop him or her reaching that goal.

I liked the original concept of Professor Presper, him being some Pre War scientist who had gone into cryogenic hibernation days before the War.
Even NCR professor Presper wasn't that bad.

But I don't think we should have more Enclave like Pre War organizations pop up again, rather people after the War who have come across Pre War information or technology and are now raising havoc with it.

Edit:

What did people think of the whole mutated jungle that was mentioned in Fallout Tactics 2' concept and Fallout BOS2?

Personally I am not such a fan of 'evil' jungles but I guess its the way the story is brought.
Perhaps a skilled writer can make it good.

Also, no alien invasions!
Some people actually proposed that based on the crashed ship encounter.

I dont think either the storyline of tactics was that bad. It just was a bad RPG, that for sure.

If I am not mistaken, Van Buren featured a plot somewhere with Robots as well, or at least a machine controled society.

I would welcome such a setting in the future of Fallout, as long its not exaggerated. As long those Robots become not what the Enclave and Supermutants have been now in F3. Brainless generic enemies that wield a plasmarifle or laserminigun.

I want finally again vilains with character, with personality, that make YOU! as player question your motives. Not you THEM. How did one said once, the world is not sett in stone. So should not be a vilain.
