Brotherhood Elders

Stoned Frog

First time out of the vault
Canon-wise, are the Brotherhood Elders allowed to wear Power Armor if they wanted to? And what kinds of weaponry are they able to use?

Are the bortherhood elders allowed to.... aren't they the guys in command?

:\ well most Elders you see in all the games wear robes, so I was wondering whether or not it was, proper to wear Power Armor if they wanted to.

They are the leaders of the chapters, that alone could tell you they have more privileges than the regular saps that wear Power armor and carry Guassrifles.

Then why do Elders wear the robes?

Ever heard of ranks and uniforms? It's probably just protocol and the Elders wear them because 1. tey never fight on the fron lines and 2. to show their rank.

Elders can and probably do in worst case scenarios. Other than that, its probably a sign of respect and wisdom to not wear them, perhaps?

Also, wearing the most advanced armor while do not leaving a bunker, that's a waste of resources.

Well given that they are almost always Paladins then I guess they can if the situation demanded it; wasn't one of the High Elder's killed by a posioned arrow from the Vipers? I can't imagine him going into battle in robes.

Yes, he was killed when he had his helmet off and he was struck in the neck with a poisonous projectile. So yeah, when they actually fight they wear power armor.

Why would they wear them?
Most of those guys are old, and have a bad bladder. It is an ultimate annoyance when you have to go to toilet but first need to take that metal plate away from your genitalia. Robes are more practical.

Elders are group in command why would they wear power armor it's obvious that they supervise research and tactics of the brotherhood? Why would you wear power armor when you almost never leave the bunker. Same goes for scribes they don't wear it because fighting it's not what they do... power armor is after all ultimate battle suit and that's what it's worn for.

Yeah, that Japanese dude during the Fuckushima thing. He wore that blue overall to win votes.

Ever see presidents or Prime Ministers wearing the uniforms of their armed forces on a daily basis?
Yeah, not only that but active combat duty clothing, with Kevlar vest and all.

T-51b has a waste recycling system that turns urine into water. So the bad bladder helps them.
