Buying a New Computer for Gaming

Tom Servo

First time out of the vault
Recently I got a job that gives me more money AND more free time, so I'm looking to get a decent computer for gaming. The problem is I don't really know much about computers so I could use some suggestions. I would prefer a laptop, but I don't know if that's the best route to go for gaming. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

Im also looking for any must have RPGs I should get as well, old or new. Gameplay and story are what I'm looking for, graphics aren't really what I'm concerned with; although i do appreciate the eye candy if its not a detriment to other areas. My rpg experience is limited, Ive only played like two games on the few top 50 lists I've found and I feel I owe it to myself to correct that.

One last thing; controllers. I'd like a decent one because I'm not a fan of mouse/keyboard play, but it's not essential at all.

Thanks for your suggestions, I'm sure I'm in the right hands.

Well we would need to know how much are you willing to spend on it or how much your budget can stretch, because anyone can tell you to just buy an Alienware or any other Gaming laptop but you might not be interested in paying 2k dollars on it.
In my opinion it's better to custom build your PC; here is a website that might help you to decide it better http://choosemypc.net/

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out. Money isn't really an issue, but I am kind of a penny pincher so building exactly what I want for what I want at a lower cost is intriguing. Provided I can make sense of it hahaha.

Edit: that site looks fantastic. This definitely feels like the route I want to go. Ill post any questions as I come across them, so for now I guess I would like to focus on game suggestions.

Check this game guys. Its a new project on Kickstarter. I am thinking of pledging. What do you think?

Thanks for the suggestion, but I'm more looking for RPGs that are already out. I have decades worth of games I haven't played yet. For some reason that animation gave me a Kablam! Vibe, not that that's a bad thing.

It's a spam account, it isn't giving any genuine advice, just spamming their kickstarter.
