Call of Grand Theft: Modern Hijack

While Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 doesn’t hit store shelves until tomorrow, it’s already the talk of the internet today.

Numerous online reports indicate that a French deliver truck carrying approximately 6,000 copies of the title in south Paris was hijacked by two people in masks on Saturday. The culprits crashed into the vehicle with their own car and proceeded to use tear-gas on the truck’s drivers before making off with the copies of MW3 – a prize reportedly worth 400,000 euros – or $551,000.

That’s all we know right now, but we’ll of course keep you posted if any further details on the situation emerge. Until then, be on the lookout for dudes in masks looking to sell you a copy of MW3…

Awesome! If I were those guys, I'd simply burn all the copies. Come on, you gotta agree that Call of Duty should totally fail. At least we'll see better games.

I can't believe someone would wreck their own car just to play some video games

SMH people sometimes

They didn't do it to play the games, they did it to sell them and make a crapton of money

Violent carjackings are awesome now?

Only because it's because of a game that people say they don't like and they think that one truckload of games is going to make a difference + they're probably going to get most of the copies back.

More stolen games means less money for Activision.
Bungie is working on something for them. So I think they will make it. :)
ORIGINAL STORY: Activision Blizzard has announced they've signed an exclusive 10-year deal with Bungie to publish their new franchise, marking the first publishing deal for the Halo studio since their big split with Microsoft back in 2007. The deal gives Activision exclusive worldwide rights to bring "Bungie's next big action game universe to market," which also just happens to confirm Bungie has a big new action game franchise in the works.

While details on this new franchise are non-existent in the announcement, the news does also seem to confirm it'll be multiplatform -- the publishing deal includes rights to distribute games in the franchise on "multiple platforms and devices." Bungie, though, will maintain full ownership of the new IP as well as remain fully independent.

Yeah, after doing time in the Army, I realized I hate Call of Duty.

Ya know I always wondered what people in the armed forces thought of such games after serving and being able to draw a viable comparison.

Sincerely,
