Charles Manson is like looking into a time machine. The type of man that walked the earth 100, 300, 1000 years ago. He's the combination of all the run off that accumulated in the gutters of society, and his gift to the world was the truth of his existence.


It's another case of society in general sweeping their own problems under the rug and praying that another Charles Manson will never happen again. Problem is, it will...over and over and over, until those problems are solved.

You really think people's saneness is dependant on a lack of societal ills?

Perhaps partially, but instability seems mostly to come from one's own 'chemical imbalance' so to speak.

This is the year 2015, with all of the data, wisdom, and experience this species has going for itself, it still clings to societal illusions that have been rampant for thousands of known years.
 
I sort of get what you mean. Certain mental disorders can be caused or worsened by society, but it's an inarguable fact that certain mental illnesses are caused by biology and not the environment that the person inhabits.
 
All that are spotted early will have appropriate environments prepared for them.
 
Different people react differently to the same stimuli and envirorment, some people might even get more violent or react poorly to being put in "the appropiate envirorment". Psychology is still pretty much pseudo science and charlatanry so there isn't any standard way of treating mental illness. And some people don't even develop noticeable symptoms or tendencies until much later in their life, specially when some communities might not even take certain tendencies as abnormal at all.
 
If your theory is correct, then obviously there would be no government, no religion, no education system, no advanced societal structures.
 
You seem to believe that for somethign to exist it neeeds to obviously be 100% infalible. And it is not, that's why the concepts of Crime, evil and punishment exist. Nothing is 100% fool proof, specially things dependant on something as erratic as human behavior.
