Quality spent time. Tnx for info, otherwise I would miss it for sure.
No bullshit introduction much and I really liked it.
Not that I was searching, but I rarely see something as informative as this. On many layers.
For me, as far as I can remember, this, crytek interative level/AI design capabilities [not implementation] and bungie's presentation [and texts] about reasons for their Halo AI/level implementation are the three most noticeable insights in how some of developers function.
As for video clips, a lot of things could be said or discussed about Chris's approach in design [not much speech about things that define RPG genre], but, irony aside, I have a feeling that only handful of developers spend that kind of time in preproduction as they are in i.e. BI F3, which is very... telling.
As for Alpha protocol... I don't know. It's not the problem in mechanic of the game – it could be very innovative and stuff, I'm [as a casual player, I must add] simply sick and tired of killing Nazis [is there one alive any more?], saving worlds, hanging above cliffs, but above all if I play games it's because I don't want to hear about present day problems, especially not about something that you can watch in every damn TV channel...
Imo, that's one of the reasons why I liked fallout universe – it's detached from my experience. And its world is fucked up already, so I'm not to blame myself for a failure...
But, maybe it's just me, and it will be a good thing if that's the case, I would like to see that game becoming a hit.
Meh... If hate is so productive for him, maybe Chris should stick to something what he hates the most, because it seems to me that he likes Alpha protocol universe... But, then again, maybe trigger-happy kids for Beth's kindergarden forums will like it and if that is the price for a success, well I really wish them success, after all imo they deserved it.
