An iteration of the C&C Bible feat. early Scrin concepts (now non-canon):

The Scrin sustain themselves and their culture
through the harvesting of what humans call Tiberium. Scout
ships (UFOs) find useful planets. The aliens then use
meteorites to send Tiberium to that victim world. As the
substance takes hold of the planet, it drains life from the
ecosystem. It transfers that life-force to the crystalline
product. The aliens use the resulting mineral formation for
essential energy. One way or another, Tiberium energizes the
aliens as a fuel source, food source, raw construction
material, medical supply, etc. It keys the Scrin
reproductive cycle, sustains their biology, and enables their
considerable technology. It is life itself -- collected into
a “harvestable” crystal.

Ironically, the easy proliferation of the substance allows
the aliens to reproduce too swiftly. The Scrin’s rapid
multiplication makes their constant colonization and
expansion necessary. The race resembles a virus in the
galactic body, spreading out of control.
The fierce JUDGAR (should-GAR) military overlords control
this alien society and direct its dispersal. The JudGar
select Earth as their next target. During the Second
Tiberium War between the GDI and NOD, the aliens send scout
ships to Earth to investigate Tiberium’s progress. Since
humans harvest the crystals so quickly to feed their various
war machines, the substance does not have enough time to do
its damage. The Scrin want to nudge one side of the war
along to accelerate the terraforming. Kane’s openness to
Scrin designs makes NOD the most likely candidate.

The JudGar command, the more intelligent and elaborate Scrin,
command armies of fierce drones. Mindless and simply formed,
these drones act out the JudGar’s wishes in the field.
When an alien craft crashes in an ion storm, the Brotherhood
of NOD recovers its technology and dead pilots. The Scrin
come to Earth to recover that material. They agree to a
paper-thin alliance with NOD to push the humans’ meaningless
conflict along. By aiding one side over the other, the Scrin
hope to end the war. They then plan to bring their full
occupation force, finishing their gutting and rebuilding of
Earth.

And an early script for C&C: Red Alert 1 cutscenes (Soviet). Which is awesome. Really, really awesome:

This is great! Thanks, Mikael. Will make a fine read tomorrow.

Aw, I miss C&C.

Anyone knows whether it is still possible to can get that The First Decade (or Deluxe Edition or Saga) from EA (I mean, the physical copy)? And where?

Heh, thanks man. Will see if I can order this. I personally have little experience with online shopping.

EDIT: Shoot-seems that I can't get it from here. Oh well...
Maybe Amazon.

I'll buy it online and ship it to you if you cover the expenses (of course) I can get it for 15 USD on amazon.

http://www.amazon.com/Command-Conquer-First-Decade-Pc/dp/B000CPKIT6

or if you want to be more legit I could buy it and put it up on ebay or something, but you said you don't do much online shopping.

Thanks man, appreciate the offer, but I've just got a mail from one local distributor. I guess I'll be able to get Saga for decent price without any fuss and online buying stuff. Hopefully...

During C&C4 hype, EA released C&C and Tiberian Sun for free download. Good way of advertising I guess.
I think they've stopped streaming in some time ago. I can't seem to find the original address.

Hey guys. Is the first Red Alert more fun than the second? I've played the latter and it was awesome, more awesome than three because at least you could turn the fucking superweapons off and make the game a real strategy, not a race.

red alert is definitely worth a play. The interface improved over time and it feels clunky but it has a good set of varied missions and great balance. For instance, the Allies strongest tank is weaker than the Soviet's lightest tank but they have a ridiculous navy as well as speedier units.

and they are much cheaper. But in general playing with the allies is a bit more difficult.

Red Alert is great. It lacks some of the flair of the second one, and you might be surprised at the relatively somber tone it has. I prefer the second one because of the batshit craziness, original units, and sweet ass cutscenes, but the original is a classic for sure.

not just you.

C&C literally "died" for me once the third game was out which was the last "good" C&C and not by coincidence the last done by the "real" westwood people. I like many of my friends have grown up with C&C and we loved all the games be it Tiberum or Red Alert. We didnt even discussed which game was "better" we loved them all for their unique style.

And as a long time fan it always hurts a little to see how EA lobotomized the franchise and is STILL continuing to milk it. But each year it hurts a little less at least. Anything they throw out today is brainless content. Nothing more nothing less. It does in NO WAY deserve the name C&C.

At least one can still play the old games which have even for today standarts awesome qualities.

Thanks.
Every time I visit EVA, Wiki Activity page opens up (as with all other wikis I frequent), so I tend to miss what's on the frontpage. Also, I haven't visited EVA for some time.

The day they went from pixels to polys the game died...I showed my wife some images of Red Alert 2, and compared them to the modern shit, and even she said RA2 was far more beautiful. Progress for progresses sake - sucks.

Red Alert 3 is awesome.

And 3D models will be better than 2D everyday, if only for the lesser amount of work they involve. And as a side note, Red Alert 2 is 2.5D: vehicles are three dimensional voxel models, while the rest of the game has been rendered from three dimensional models. That makes your point kind of break down and fail, Pixie.
