Computer freezes completely after a few minutes play..

Sounds more like a problem with your computer. That's no worry, it happens one day or another. A simple click and your system will be going down, say thanks it didn't die on you completely.
final edit: ive tested all other games systematically, and everything works fine.
its only fallout tactics, and it freezes my computer down as a rule, at least once per mission, itll be instantly or within minutes, but sooner or later it will freeze down.
google searches give me _zero_ results, i cannot possibly be the only human in the universe to encounter this problem?

Do you have all or most of the random encounters found? The game has a bug where the player will find every random encounter and the game will do as you are describing it.
Its happened to me as well, to fix this you must start over and replay the game I fixed it by adding another fake random encounter and making it not available to the player, if you do want to restart and play again I will send you the patch so you never run into this problem again.
