Uh, maybe that's because Wasteland was never supposed to be retrofuturistic?

It wasn't originally, but I think it would make sense for it to become retrofuturistic now, but with 1980s/1990s retro style instead of 1950s like in Fallout. This is the only way the original Wasteland backstory could remain canon.
