Concerning Fallout Boy/Vault Boy

Pip Boy and Vault Boy (as I call him) do look like one another but actually are not the same as is said many times by the moderators. I can imagine people getting confused, because they just look alike.

B.T.W. loved reading the posts about the thing with Wooz and the Crazyape fella. Too bad it isn't a Jerry Springer forum :P

Pip Boy - The little fella on your Pip Boy computer, red hair, yellow 'space' type outfit.

Vault Boy - The little guy in the Vault Suit with the yellow hair in your stats page and just about everywhere else. The mascot for FO 1/2.

Thats how I see it to be correct anyway.

Or, what you(Alec) could do is to recreate the original Pip Boy, the red haired char that the palm computer got it's name from.

No, CrazyApe, you're wrong. They're different mascots for different products from *different companies*. Jesus, man, they're really, *really* not the same.
ACtually it's the same company that makes just about everything of importance in the Fallout Universe (sans most weapons) that is, "Vault-Tec".

I never thought of the Vault-boy and Pip-boy characters as being different. I thought it was a generic company mascot. Stupid n00bish me I guess.

Incorrect. PIP-Boy was made by RobCo Industries. Vault-Tec's only "products" are the Vaults and some of the Vault equipment (including the G.E.C.K.). Everything else in the Fallout universe was produced by other corporations.

No, goddamnit, it isn't. The PIP-boy was *not* a Vault-Tec product.

Have no fear, the cougar is here!

Quoted from the manual for Fallout:

ROBCO PIPBOY 2000

To help Vault Dwellers record information (and information is
extremely valuable, in fact, it might be the most valuable weapon we
have against the end of civilization, so pay attention!), Vault-Tec has
selected the RobCo Industries RobCo PIPBoy 2000 as the Personal
Information Processor of choice for its Vault Dwellers.

The RobCo PIPBoy 2000 (hereafter called the PIPBoy), is a
handy device that you wear on your wrist. It’s small, especially by
today’s standards, and it will store a goodly amount of information
for you. And using modern super-deluxe resolution graphics to boot!

There.

And I have in fact re-installed F2, and it is so.

My hat is off, thank you for correcting me.

I like the name Fallout Boy better. But if you do a Google picture search on "Fallout Boy", you get alot of pictures of some faggy band that has defiled the name of the Fallout franchise, and I don't want to be reminded of them or their horseshit music.

So "Vault Boy" is preferable, if you ask me.

Absolutly my oppinion.

I never knew what to call him so whenever I would reference him I would usually just say something along the lines of "that Fallout guy there" but Vault boy makes a ton of sense. Does anyone know of anywhere online that might have all of the pitures of him from the perks and what not? Some of those were pretty sweet.
