Wrong.

Those that have been around since it's creation or even shortly thereafter will throw the fact of their "seniority" in the faces of everyone. If not in public, then by ICQ or email. In fact, it's WORSE than the Order, since it is behind closed doors and everything gets forgiven at the drop of a hat. Certain "founding" members can do what they please and get excused for it completely. Those"dogmatic elders" might not be so obvious, but after a while you will know who they are. They are the ones who say there should be no seniors, but will beat the fact that they were in the first thread over the heads of everyone else.

Hmm... am I going to put myself out of this discussion this

Heh.
This is ENTERTAINMENT.
Admins arguing about their position and duty in a place which was originally an arguement about SKYNET and his... statements.

My position:
Shadowman, try to compare this to an IRC channel.
What do you consider a GOOD op?
One who sits with his finger on the trigger, waiting to kick+ban the whole ISP of someone who will DARE to REPEAT, use COLOR, put an ad, or say DAMN or WHAT THE FUCK?
Or is it one who kicks the ones who made a MISTAKE , and broke the rules, and BANS those who dared to repeat their mistake - without
over-excessive sensitive finger-on-trigger and without unnecessary "IDEOLOGIES".

Your job, is necessary and clear.
As admins in a very organised message board, you should make sure all the (very simple) rules are followed.
No cross-posting, no SPAMMING, flaming, and so on.
Of course you should follow those rules yourself, otherwise what's the point.
BUT - an ARGUEMENT, no matter how... intensive it is, is not breaking of any rules, and is basicly legitimate.
We are not here to come once in a while, check posts, post something urself (question, FALLOUT related opinion and so on) and go to eat outside.
This is a COMMUNITY based on a message board, and since this type of communication is the main com-tool of FO-Fans, it is natural that here people will interact, know eachother and converse, wether it is in DISCUSSION or an ARGUMENT.

XOTOR and Roshambo are RIGHT when they try to avoid excessive "adminess" and control over the board, and try to make it as open and free as possible in the limits of legit and clean communication.
They are also RIGHT when they try to claim their right of participating in the message board themselves, in discussions and in arguments.

YOU are RIGHT when you say that you should be a basic example for the users, and should be the "bigger man" and know to pull the plug, but this is IRRELEVENT and UNNECCESSARY and too "BIG BROTHER" when you try to make this argument into something it is not.
