Could this be the end...?

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
Big Brother Housemates Ashley and John were escorted from the House on Saturday afternoon following a breach of the rules. The producers Endemol Southern Star and Network Ten deemed their actions were grounds for their removal from the show. The producers will not be commenting any further on this serious matter.

In a joint statement made shortly after they left the House, Ashley and John said: "We had a great time in the house. It is unfortunate it had to end this way, but Big Brother has rules and regulations and we broke them.

“We are all very close in the house and we would never do anything to offend our fellow housemates."

Well I just heard about this and I think it's FUCKING AWESOME news. Apparently these two guys held down one of the girls in the Big Brother house, but nothing more has been said on the matter.

Why do you think I bring this up? I hate the show, I loathe it. And for something like this to occur is great news for a show that promotes absolute shit and is full of airhead sluts and players.

Oh well, I'm glad that this show is now coming under review...

Some bitch was "held down" in a Big Brother house? I don't quite get it. I know the concept of Big Brother and all, and have seen a Swedish episode a couple of years ago.

Now, I neither watch nor like Big Brother, but how is this news really any 'good'? Crappy people will always exist, and they will find ways of exercising their crappiness regardless if two people are kicked out of the Australian Big Brother house or not.

Well I guess it was what they were going to do when she was held down, and I'm not sure that rape is necessary for 9.30pm viewing, let alone the family-friendly 7pm show.

And this is good, not because this chick could have been raped/hurt or whatever, it's that the show is now facing axeing, and many people have wanted this show gone for so very long.

EDIT: It hasn't been disclosed as yet whether or not anything happened.

Ugh, I HATE Big Brother. It is the epitome of human scum. Good news indeed, lets hope something equally appaling happens in other countries where this crap is running and shut it down for good.

Heh, I'm glad someone sees my point.

IT"S BAD, I know that some chick could have been hurt, BUT it's good that this happened as the show faces scrutiny for just being plain old shit...

I despise Big Brother as well, and I too believe the contestants are the epitome of human scum - from what I've seen. However, I have absolutely nothing against the show existing. I frankly don't get people who "want it gone", and have been wanting so for a long time - if you don't like it, why don't you just not watch it? There's tons of stuff I'd never want to affiliate with myself in the world, but that doesn't mean I think they shouldn't be allowed to exist. If Big Brother would disappear due to a lack of public interest, I guess I would be glad, but the public is interested in crap, and should be allowed to do so.

Furthermore, I don't know about the situation in Australia, but if two people would be kicked out from the Swedish Big Brother due to something like this with fat press coverage, the ratings would prolly go up - meaning a victory for the show. As Big Brother is crap to begin with, if the press would write in big fat letters "Big Brother is CRAP!" (but with different, more 'appealing' wording), it would only attract even more of its target group, I reckon.

I mean, seriously, I enjoy lots of stuff that the lot of you would probably yawn at - why would you see it as a victory if my private interests that do not appeal to you were hurt? It's one thing if a crime such as rape is committed, but the tone of this discussion isn't targeting whether or not rape is good or bad - it's rather, to my eyes, targeting the right for a show such as Big Brother to exist.

Also, a disclaimer: I'm really drunk and frankly don't really quite care for this subject, but the booze can make me care about anything, so don't take me too seriously ;).

Warhammer should be outlawed, yeah.

From what I've read, "rape" didn't occur in the traditional sense, but more "turkey-slapping" was involved. When I was a kid, we called that kind of thing "bismarking" It's a pretty retarded thing to do to someone. Basically you hit them in the face with your willy. What this signifies or accomplishes, I don't know. It's certainly an assault of a sexual nature, since the woman was restrained apparrently against her will, and one that should be taken seriously.

Yeah that's what it was, methinks. But either way that's pretty full on for a tv show.

So basically the show that showcased "humanity in its purest" finally showed part of the dark side of its truth and now I'm just given more reason not to watch "reality tv".

Seriously I hear about that enough in the news. Anyone who watches such is just some whore for reality who cant/wont accomplish anything and needs to see someone else doing it to feel alive...how shameful.

Sincerely,
The Vault Dweller

Dude... Now you notice the dark side of man? :P

Well I was just told this by the news this morning. I have never watched one episode of Big Brother, and I never will. To see this shit, is just perverse.

Hehe. Bismarcking, eh? Slapping your pecker against some slut's cheek, eh? Hehe. Gotta remember that one.
I used to watch the first version of BB, when it was all new and a big hype and what have you, but after 4-5 episodes I stopped watching, grasping how it is scientifically impossible to make a good tv show with a bunch of unemployed losers doing incredibly retarded things in a giant living room. Waste of time is what it is. They should just lock them up for two years without camera's and with a huge collection of drugs, booze and weaponry, and see who makes it back out alive. That obviously psychopatic winner should then be gassed - live on tv.

And, of course, my girlfriend watches them all.

Actually, that's not the worst of it. She's a grand fan of a Belgian 'reality' TV show about a washed-up Flemish ex-Bayern München goalie, his shallow offspring, moronic 'singer' son-in-law and their marginal children.

I barely ever watch TV anymore.

Ah, The Pfaffs. Of course. Now that's about as low as one can go, my friend. I think this might be an excellent opportunity for you to dump your girlfriend and pursue that homosexual lifestyle you have been dreaming of. With your feminine looks, I would seriously consider getting an operation so you can have yourself some nice titties. I'm sure there's lots and lots of money to be earned for young, hot ladyboys who aren't grossed out by facials and arse-to-mouth sex. Lots of sick and perverted old men out there, you know. Lots of rich sick and perverted old men out there, if you know what I'm saying.

Anyway, back on topic: should rape be an integral part of each and every reality TV show? And if so, should the rapist be punished once the TV show is over? Or does that depend on whom exactly it was that he raped? Can he use attributes during the rape, like lit candles, needles, a bottle of vinager and a funnel? What if the whole group rapes someone simultaneously, say like the least popular contestant? Discuss please.

well i can't see one good reason why it shouldn’t be implemented
i guess the viewers want them to get raped and it's all about the viewers
can't have high quality TV without it
and i think the protagonists would sort of like to get raped too, but there should be some propaganda about coolness of being a rape victim first
i think the right way to go about implementing rape would be to put a "no means yes" clause in the contract
not sure about the whole group raping the least popular.. like the tv show forcing the group to rape.. i can see how it would be cool.. but then what about homosexual rape? call me homophobe but im not sure i'd want that on tv...
