Courier Names

I also like the name "Blondie" for the Courier too, for the following:

1) Referencing The Good, The Bad and The Ugly, and the type of character I like the Courier to be
2) I like the default face on character creation, and he's blonde
3) It's kind of an unusual name, unusual for an small-town vault dweller like Doc Mitchell anyway, and he comments on the Courier having an odd name

I always thought Doc Mitchell's comment about the Courier having a weird name was kind of a joke that the character actually calls themself "Courier" as the default.

I just go with "Courier" which I think fits with them either being a background character doing the major player's dirty work or the events of NV being what makes them relevant. Who they were before they stepped into the Mojave doesn't matter, history will remember him/her as "The Courier" anyway. If I do a Legion play through sometimes I'll try to give them a meaningful latin name however.
Plus I think it fits Doc Mitchell's reaction to it being "strange". Either it's some weird latin larp name or the Courier's head is still so fuzzy that when he's asked who he is he blurts out his last occupation.

I read somewhere on this site, that supposedly the Courier's name is Arabic (i.e Ahmed) due to Benny's joke on 9/11. So i took the liberty and named Ahmed Gopher. I Chose Gopher as a last name because it means an employee who specializes in the delivery of special items to their superior(s) and because there was a New York gang back 1890s, who specialized in robberies, gambling, trafficking etc.. The only problem tho is that i can't find Benny's 9/11 joke. I just can't find it anywhere. If I did, then the Courier could've been an Arab. I think. Or not. I just really like the name though.

For a fucked up Courier and background

Female name Maria.

Yeah, Maria.

Considering Benny using his Maria to shoot this Maria dead on a hill's opened grave, yeah, this is pretty stimulating

Six, just Six. I imagine the courier wouldn't remember their name.
They might not but their name is listed with the Mojave Express in Primm - as mentioned by Nash and Ulysses. Kind of works against that RP unless your character is uninterested in learning their actual name.

An interesting way of RPing that might be the Courier calling themselves "Courier" to Doc Mitchell and having a soupy memory - then when you get the "Change your character" prompt leaving Goodsprings it's them remembering their name as they head out.

I'm thinking back to all the times I read "Six" and assumed it was the number...I think I played myself on this one lmao

Courier Six is your number but only because you were Courier #6 on the House job. Your name was listed directly beside it. Ulysses had he not turned the job down because he recognized your name - would have been Courier #6 himself.

I did the Six thing too. I RPed that he remembered his "real" one once he got to Primm, but was fixed on the name by then. The Courier gets around, I'm sure they've had plenty of names before.

I generally just choose a name that would seem appropriate with the archetype I'm trying to play.

My current character is Erak, an INT 3 tribal who seeks to live the life of an honorable warrior and devour the flesh of his enemies.

Jan.
Hard to explain but it sounds nice and is simple. Doesn’t carry a lot of baggage. I don’t reuse names tho. Get’s my characters mixed up which is weird for me.

Honestly, I just named them dumb shit like Chad Thundercock for the sake of remembering which save I have for each playthrough I did, I can't even remember my first courier's name. But when it comes to naming most characters I play other than giving them your actual name it's just Carl. I just like naming characters Carl for some reason.
