Decent Games

Beaushizzle

Look, Ma! Two Heads!
I'm hella bored. In tired of my games. Played the total war series to death. Sick of wargame. Not feeling fallout. Tired of mount and blade.
Anyone have suggestions?
Games have to be very low cost and no 2d scrollers.

Recommendations?

Darklands :D
While it kinda is a 2D scroller (in that it is a 2D game), I'd recommend Naev ( http://blog.naev.org/ ), a space trader/combat game in the style of Escape Velocity. It's free, and it's pretty good and under slow, but constant development. A nice way to pass the time, really.

Either of these two: http://store.steampowered.com/sub/49358/

This one is a 3D side-scroller (...that I find terribly addictive.)

This one's free ~and awesome...

Or the $10 version with a modest graphical update:

I love the level design on this one:

*I'd add both the Myth and Homeworld series to the list, but Homeworld was just re-released and costs $40, while Myth 1&2 have disappeared except from 3rd party mail-order.

But I'm a dumb Murican, and, as others pointed out, "mah guns and freedomz" keep me from achieving a reading level above that of a piece of flint.
Also, I've read every book in my house, some even twice. Library? Well, our oldest child lost all three books we rented, and we now owe the library money. Yay kids.

Download some e-books. I would really recommend reading Azimov, Gibson and Heinlein. If you're really bored, you can try reading the entire Horus Heresy. If you can't be bothered to read, then you could dig around for some audiobooks.

FTL - Faster Than Light
Small tactical indie game, very good for pouring half a hour of your working time into something meaningless and mind blocking!

Jagged Alliance 2 (with 1.13 or Wildfire mods)

Well, it looks like someone doesn't have to worry about bills, food or savings.

Bullshit. I worry about all of that and I can shell down more than $5 on a game. As a matter of fact I rarely buy games that cheap. Save up $20 and quit being a twat.
