Gamasutra was able to confirm that, in spite of Rob Pardo's comments at Hollywood and Games that they weren't giving up on StarCraft Ghost, this Blizzard project remains something different. With Blizzcon coming up in mere weeks, it's possible that additional information could be revealed at that time.

*ponders* If I were a bettin man I'd say DIII. -Or, maybe WOD? ...World of Diablo, WoD (pronounced wad) would have an interesting ring to it eh?

I do hope for DiabloIII to receive the same treatment as Star Craft; however, a little voice in my head says Blizzard wants another MMO.

I'm actually vaguely hoping it's a new, interesting property. Blizzard has good world-crafting people and who knows, this team might be the one that contains Leonard Boyarsky and the other ex-BIS guys. They can certainly make an interesting new setting.

Diablo III would be fun too, tho'.

If it's an MMO I betcha it'll be Fallout OnLine
 
I want it to be Diablo 3, and I want the story to go back to the dark style of the first game, not the cheesy cartoony version that is Diablo 2. D2 is terribly fun... but it lacked the atmosphere.

I don' like Blizzard, so, I don't care if they make Diablo 3, Warcraft 20 or whatever. Diablo 3 will be the same than Diablo 2, but, of course, with 3d Graphics.
 
Blizzard is one of the few truly independant gamestudios with big bucks.

if you don't respect them for the games they make (and the quality of the work), that's your choice, but at least acknowledge them for their independence.

i wish there were more gamestudios that did whatever they please without fucking over the fans...
 
World of Diablo would be silly and wouldn't add anything that World of Warcraft doesn't already add. Besides, they're not going to compete with their own biggest product.

It's more likely that it'll be Diablo 3 (pretty cool), or an entirely new property. I'm hoping it's the latter.

I'm not talking about respect.

Blizzard is independent because they make the games that the "big ones" always do. I can's see Blizzard making games like Fallout, System Shock or Arcanum, Blizzard are masters of marketing and they knows, perfectly, what the people wants. And people wants starcrafts, warcrafts an diablos with better graphics.

But I'm only saying that I don't like it. I don't want to play the same game once and once again, and Blizzarod does not create new games since Diablo 1. If you like, great, no problem, it's your choice. But I prefer to see some kind of positive evolution in videogames. It's my opinion.

At this point, I hope that the industry would refrain from any aforementioned 'evolution'.

Morrowind -> Oblivion.
Deus Ex -> Deus Ex 2.
Fallout 2 -> Fallout 3.
 
By making good games people actually enjoy playing? :wtf:

Perhaps they're not really pushing anything forwards by sticking to formulas which were proven to work. But that's still better then what the larger part of the gaming industry is doing.

Also, looking forward to Diablo III, if it's indeed in the works. I hope it will more reminiscent of I then II, thousands of different items can't replace the feel and atmosphere. :/
 
Lost Vikings? Never really played the diablo games. Tried the demo of diablo 1 and played diablo 2 online ones at a friend. But if there is a third one I'll definitely pick it up. Someday. When it's on sale. As a trilogy pack. And the corner is dented so I can get it on a discount.

WELL FUCKING SAID! Sorry for caps but your absolutely CORRECT!

Deus Ex 2 was so horrible it makes me sad inside. Fallout 3 I wrote off when they banned me from their forum, and Oblivion just sucks.(I really tried to play it and upgraded my computer just to play it and I was disapointed)

Writing off a game because a moderator who is certainly removed from the creative process of the game is a shit idea.
