Dishonored 2

Is there a light gem or audio feedback(footsteps)? If not then that's sad cause Thief The Dark Project had those features 18 years ago. That's why I didn't care much for the first game, bad stealth game that had less features then the first two Thief games. I can only imagine that Razorfist is going to tear this game apart even more brutally than he did with the first.

I hope so, and no, there's no light gem.

I'd argue aside from the technical issues it's a must buy. The world feels alive, combat is fluid, there's deep lore. The story, whilst still simple isn't as... "exposition heavy" as the first game and dialogue feels much better.

I don't know why people are overreacting about the bugs. It took me 15 minutes of tweaking to get 60fps on high graphics (there's very high and ultra) with rat shadows and v-sync turned off, and setting Dishonored 2 to high priority in task manager. @AgentBJ09 maybe try this?

No visual bugs or audio bugs. I have a gtx 770 so it's not high end. I don't want to be a blind fanboy, so I'm willing to assume I got lucky with fixing it. I hope the devs fix the problems others are having, I think the game is great- at its current state not goty material. If it were running as smooth as the first Dishonored it would definitely be up there.

I didn't play on PC. I rented for the XBOX One.

And I wasn't thrilled by the original Dishonored, so this one didn't win me back.

He was detached from your world, and was sarcastic and made jabs against you. He never made threats, but his power was way above yours to the point were he was threatening. Every so often there'd be curiosity or even sick excitement in his voice that he would quickly hide. He was otherworldly but with human mannerisms, which fit his lore (he was sacrificed by cultists and became part of the Void).
I heard a little of the new voice from gameplay videos and... it does not sound like a good fit to me. Maybe I have to play the game to get used to it but I still prefer Billy Lush for all those reasons you pointed out here.

Honestly this game looks more fun to murder everything in your path than to stealth it passively through the game.
From what I'm hearing stealth is a quick load mess because either the AI instantly sees you or doesn't, no inbetween.
Shame about the shitty optimization, maybe they'll fix that someday so I can purchase it and try the game out.

all this cry about AI dumb make me wish for the day i played crysis and F.E.A.R

Interesting story about FEAR is that Monolith has actually admitted FEAR has no different AI then any other FPS.

FEAR only LOOKED like it had good AI because they spent an assload of time very carefully designing every single room in the game to force the NPC into doing things that LOOKED like cleaver AI, but were actually just the only things they could do.

i forgot to mention Stalker series, which have even more robust AI that is naturally comes from its programming sorry

Their grenades are so darn accurate... I ought to replay Shadow of Chernobyl again one of these days.

Now that the hype has worn off I can say that Dishonored 2 is a fun game.
It's a good game as well, and maybe when they get it to run at a stable 60fps it will be a great game, but even then it still needs work done.

The intro is completely rushed to "push players into the action".

The ending is the same boss fight from the Brigmore Witches DLC.

The antagonist has not been developed any further from The Brigmore Witches.

"Poetic justice" is completely removed from the game. Smartest man alive offers to build security systems for your enemies- lobotomize him. The lieutenant to your arch nemesis who helped to organise the coup against you and is a sadistic murderer- just arrest her lol. A better way of wording it is that the non-lethal options in the game are weaker and some of them rely on conveniences too much.

Even with no powers mode, the game still won't satisfy the "hardcore stealth" crowd. It's not particularly difficult, and people have already completed nihilist runs. This one is down to opinions though, some people prefer harder games and others like more relaxing ones.

Here's one that @Vergil will love. They retconned the existing lore and added a new area to the Empire. It's called 'Wei-Ghon' and it explains where all of these Asian people that just suddenly appeared in the second game came from. This doesn't necessarily make the game worse, but it serves no purpose other than "muh diversity". The only character that comes from WG is this Overseer that gets killed off screen.

Here's a minor one to finish it off (these are all from the top of my head), they big up Grim Alex the "Crown Killer" only to have it be completely anti-climactic. You spend an entire mission reaching her, and then you have to infiltrate a huge Solarium only to either inject her with a syringe or stealth attack her twice. Then that's it- done.

just like what i predict before

not sure if i would get it anytime soon, maybe at sales perhaps.

Dishonoured 2 is really fun, and to me blows Dishonoured 1 out of the water. Crack in the Slab is an especially good mission that has a very interesting premise.

People in the subreddit are going on about Clockwork Mansion and Crack in the Slab for the unique designs, and I'm just sitting here playing the Duke's Mansion just because it looks pretty.

Just a shame all of the excellent level design led to a boss fight on a floating platform with a bunch of statues.

Yeah the ending was... anti-climactic at best.

What do you think of Delilah's non-lethal elimination?
A lot of them have been described as "too harsh", so it's interesting that for the primary antagonist, you basically give her everything she's ever wanted.
Me? Hmm... the way she ignored you seemed when she entered the painting was... weird but I liked it. It was a really fitting end for what amounted to a bitter and hateful witch who wanted to be loved like her sister.
