First time out of the vault
Doctor Who is coming back out in two days!
I am 100% excited to see the new doctor in action. However, the one thing I'm not excited for is Clara. -_-
Ive never liked her as a companion. I missed Amy and Rory but Clara is just bland.
What are your thoughts?
 
The last Doctor Who episode that I watched was Paradise Towers.
*That's not to say that I didn't like it... it's just it's been a long time, and I don't have a TV. :wink:
 
Ehhhh... I don't want to reopen that can of worms, but I do feel the need to counter that the old ones were chock full of bad episodes, uneven seasons, and eye-rolling garbage just like the new ones. They're products of a different zeitgeist, and they're both laden with charms (and flaws) unique to their specific formulas. I will say that Moffat could please two fandoms with one fell swoop if he gave up writing self-fellating, misogynistic, too-cool-for-school Dr. Who fanfiction and focused on getting out a few more episodes of Sherlock before the sun explodes, though.

I'm looking forward to the new season and the new dynamic, especially with Capaldi being so resolute about dissipating the cloud of high-school pheromones that've been following the Doctor around since roundabout 2007. Still, a big part of me wishes that we could have seen Smith stay and Moffat go rather than vice-versa.

Sorry but I am pretty much burned out on Doctor Who and I am the type of sci fi fan who would welcome any new sci-fi series that has some space travel in it.
The average to damn annoying episodes outnumbered the good ones of the new series.
