how's Fear, never that game anymore for a while
Yeah. And I guess "storydriven" is also a bit of a weird thing, since most shooters have some sort of story.Very fine lines. May as well add the Fear and Far Cry series to the list then.
Oh yeah, that game was nicely done. Proper reboot/remake. There aren't many games that can pull it off that well, often enough it's just a nostalgia cashgrab paintjob on a boring modern shooter. As far as reboot of an fps that "does it right" how about Shadow Warrior. That game was able to capture some of the feel of 90's pc shooter titles of yore. It also had a viable sword option that was a viable option well through that entire game and handled nicely.
oh you expect hell inhabitant to be like shapeless entity like DS3 Saint of the deep?I still find the enemy designs boring and generic as fuck, but oh well.

the problem is, that is the actual intention. from the very codex entry to the how satanic marking and pentagram being abundant, the doom art is very likely based on dante inferno's hell. like the volcanic landscape, how doomguy being refference as Beings empowered by energy to guard hell and serving the what most likely a collective being that christian called as Angels. so instead, of hell being a place beyond of comprehension that drives you nutt, hell is place that draw your inner fear through judgement of bad people, false habit and regretness. and what antagonist we got? a ruthless megacorporation that punished by their own greediness through hell inhabitant.Hehe, that'd be a bit more original at least.
But seriously, they could have had a lot more fun with the designs. I do appreciate that they used all the classic enemies, but even the original designs were more... well, original. The cyborg stuff, for example. I loved that. We're talking things from a different dimension here, why do they all have to look so generic?
