Even people on Bethesda forums are unhappy at fallout 4. Is fallout 4 really a cookie cutter game ?

It's too much like Skyrim and not enough like Fallout.
No it's not. World building is strong with Skyrim yet in F4 world building is epic fail. And Skyrim's map is bigger with more 'verticality'. Yet Skyrim is running on Xbox 360 but F4 fails even on PS4.
And Skyrim has more freedom, the writing won't lead you to the path of chosen one if you don't want to. Kill-loot-return formula is masked brilliantly compared to straightfoward approach in F4.
And Skyrim has more stuff to do in the game.

And that's just the basic stuff.

I agree. In skyrim there was lot less unkillable npcs, compared to f4, and you could be whoever you wanted to be, instead of being forced to being a whiny widower, searching for their crotch fruit...

Dam I can't believe i said something positive about skyrim, I'm gonna go slam my balls in a door before I started saying more, stupid shit.

When did they say this? I don't doubt it. It explains why Fallout 4 was more action-oriented and streamlined quite well.

I don't get this. Who was actually emotionally connected to Vault 111 and its inhabitants? It's place in the lore is dull. There's no interesting social experiment, culture, community or lore behind it. It just exists as a plot device to get the player into the current timeline and to be cinematic. I'd much rather get a Vault 13, Vault 21 or even a Vault 101 jumpsuit before I buy that.

I'd sooner buy a Vault 11 jumpsuit over 111. I cared more about Overseer Stone and the last 5 people than the SS, his/her family and everybody else in 111.

It's not a merit on Skyrim itself, but with console or Alternate Start mods and neither visiting the Jarl of Whiterun or pick a side, you can perfectly NOT be the Dragonborn. No dragons will spawn, no Civil War events, none. It's just you, mods and Skyrim.
The game won't freak out and there aren't as many dialogues mentioning you being the DB.
In Falluto 4, your epic quest to find your stupid kid is everywhere in quests and dialogue. You care SO much that it fully controls your choices. No "Whatever son, I'm leaving to gather some Aluminum"
Or "It's fine, Kellogg. You were just following orders"

Why are people saying that people would't enjoy a well crafted RPG with deep role playing ? Fallout 3 and FNV sold very well indeed making $300k on launch day you would think would be great ? Bethesda are just getting greedy and you can tell because of the season pass.

They should of listened to this ; Do go to the masses make the masses come to you

Skyrim was GOOD, though.

One of my all time favorites.
I suppose good is a rather subjective term, and I don't question that you love it, but even if Skyrim is good Skyrim should be by itself. Skyrim shouldn't have copies of it, especially not Fallout themed ones.

This is where the issue of what you consider Fallout to be comes in. Because for me, I've played Fallout 1, 2, 3, 4, and New Vegas religiously but Fallout 3 and New Vegas are the quintessence of what I want it to be. Skyrim is a fully realized world which, if not as well-written as Morrowind, is as close to Bethesda making a world you'd want to live in as possible. It's a place I had to leave but could have stayed in for years (and did to an extent).

If they'd given that level of attention to detail, world-building, and fun then Fallout 4 would have blown away New Vegas.

This. It is striking how wrong our opinions are.
Ha. Now it says "wrong" instead of "similar". How does this make you feel?

Good
Bad
Sarcastic
Where's my son?

I get why people like Fallout 3. I'd just prefer a modern Fallout to be like NV more than anything- dealing with new factions, moving forward, staying true to the world. We'll never have another isometric Fallout (unless Bethesda pull a Hello Games then get sued and lose the rights), so might as well have another good 3d one.

I agree. The thought of not having another Fallout game on par with New Vegas is very disheartening. I guess look forward to Wasteland 3?(yay, co-op!)

I mean yeah if you don't like FO3 fair enough but just take the game rating compared to fallout 4. I think we cna all agree fallout 4 is far worse game than fo3. The had tons of times to produce it as well
