Expired... water?!

APTYP

Sonny, I Watched the Vault Bein' Built!
Bottled water has an expiration date of about two years. But it's not like it'll rot or get contaminated, since it's sealed in plastic (and plastics can last for centuries). Any idea why?

Heh, I'm truly a moron. According to Google, it has to do with water picking up packaging flavors.

Why?

Pure H20 can last pretty much forever, to my knowledge, bottled water is generally not pure h2o and thus as suspectible to rot as the next thing.

Going stale, y'know...I don't know why people seperate water from other drinks in this. It's not like water is some kind of untoucheable substance.

Actually it's a suggested use by date.
Other dates written on products are: best before date, expiry date and on medication you have a throw away date.

It takes on that plastic taste after a while. Also, if it's not PURE water, the chemicals may ...do things.
