Danse's personality is that of an asshole. Yeah. If you check Companion dialogue, everyone rallies behind Danse when he is revealed as a Synth, Companion wise, but Danse still treats everyone like garbage. It's doubly interesting because if we'd gotten the old dialogue system, I think it'd have been funny to have a Speech Check like this.
Danse: The East Coast Brotherhood even outnumbers the ranks of the West Coast Brotherhood now.

*success* Danse: Errr, to be honest, they don't consider recruits like myself to be real members of the Brotherhood of Steel. It's not an issue due to the distance between us but those not descended from the original bloodlines are considered to be initiates at best. It's part of the reason why I fight so hard that we might be accepted.
